For those of you that have gone to WDW during Thanksgiving...how are the crowds that week? We've been to WDW over Memorial Day, on February vacation that included President's Day, and in August. Is it worse over Thanksgiving than those times? Is Turkey Day equivalent to Christmas and New Years or more like any other busy time?

Any DVC'ers heading to the World over Thanksgiving? ::MinnieMo

it wasn't as bad as Memorial day - more like a non-Easter (Palm and Easter week) spring break day. my opinion.

the least crowded day was Thanksgiving - very strange!!!

I guess everyone heard about the crowds and didn't go?

We have been several times at Thanksgiving, usually arriving the day before, and leaving a few days afterward. I have never been at Christmas/New Years', so I can't compare to that, but I thought that the crowds were lighter than at Spring Break. We love going at Thanksgiving, b/c you can get a peek at the Christmas decorations, and going to WDW is something that we are extremely Thankful for!

Nowhere near Christmas or Easter time, somewhat closer to President's Day and until Wednesday, day before Thanksgiving, even better than that.

I don't know..I have been 2 years in a row Thanksgiving week. Arriving the Sat. before, and leaving the Saturday after.

Before I went the 1st time, I was told the lightest crowds were at the beginning of the week, and they got heavier as we got closer to Thanksgiving, and then the weekend after was mobbed.

Well, we found, both years, the crowds to be very heavy even at the beginning of the week. We did not go into any park on Thanksgiving Day. I am going by word of mouth, it is a very crowded.

We have been in May, June and October (Columbus Day, Halloween) and all the other times we have been, we have found it to be "heavy". I am still trying to figure out when to have the park to ourselves. But I have to say, Thanksgiving is by far, the heaviest for crowds compared to the other times we have gone. We have never gone in the middle of summer, any school breaks, Easter or Christmas, so I cannot compare to them, but Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Columbus Day and Halloween don't hold a candle to the week we have at Thanksgiving.

Thanks for the replies! We're thinking of going for 4 nights over my birthday weekend at the beginning of December instead. The kids have to miss Thurs, Fri, and Mon. of school, but they should be fine.

We're (me and DS who will be 17) arriving the Saturday before and leaving the Friday after Thanksgiving. I plan to visit the parks Sunday-Wednesday and just have a leisurely Thanksgiving Day. Hopefully, that will be a good plan.
