can anyone tell me what is at crossroads plaza? is there a convenience store? how far a walk would it be from doubletree suites and is it possible to walk there or are streets to busy to cross.

It is a VERY busy street to cross, but you will have lights and a crosswalk to help out...

Jungle Jim's (Jungle themed restaurant)
Chevy's Mexican restaurant
a couple of fast food places.

Just found this

Situated near the entrance to Downtown Disney Marketplace, Crossroads of Lake Buena Vista offers about 25 specialty shops and restaurants, including stores such as Beyond Electronics, Whites Books and Gifts, Disney Character Connection, Foot Locker and Sunglass Hut, along with Gooding's, a 24-hour grocery store that offers a big deli and variety of prepared food.

Personally, though, I wouldn't walk over there, it's dangerous enough just driving, but it is a good, convienent strip mall.

I think Jungle Jim's is history...

Nevertheless, some decent choices still remain.

No more peanut butter hamburgers though.

Yeah, Jungle Jim's is long gone at this point. Still a lot--Fridays, Sweet Tomatoes, Chevys, Buffalo WIld Wings, Red Lobster, Fuddruckers, an Indian place, as well as McDs and Taco Bell.

You could walk there, but stay alert crossing 535, that road is crazy.

Stay away from Goodings--ridicuously overpriced. Better off at the Hess station on property or, if you decide to cab it, the Winn Dixie a couple blocks up.

There is a Sweet Tomatoes at Crossroads now? When did that happen? And why wasn't I informed ?

You can definitely walk there. We've done it back when the Doubletree was a Days Inn.

Sweet Tomatos went in VERY recently. Haven't gone to it yet though because even tho' we just live over on the other side of WDW, it takes FOREVER to drive to Crossroads. Be very, very, very careful crossing 535. It's rife with impatient locals and brain-dead tourists ready to run you down in the street. The only worse street to cross on foot near Disney is Highway 192.
