Crosspoint grand gathering......or was it? updated 3/06 with pics

Great TR and Pics. And yep dgf will fit right in with us!! :teeth: Can't wait to read more...
You handled the pin thing better than I would have. I would have died. Glad it all worked out...

Where were we? Oh yes, we were heading over to the World Showcase. On my last report I had told you that the entire state of Florida was now in Epcot. I think most of the free world was there as a matter of fact :crowded: if you are thinking to yourself that "I was not there" You are the only one who wasn't. No sooner do we set out, do we have to make a pit stop. The building we stop at is doing Charactor greetings so we get in a line that was not to long and we get to meet
MIckey Mouse

Disney038.jpg

we also meet Goofy

and Pluto

We finally make it to Canada and the bad Canadian accents come out 'eh. Lots of "take off you hoser" not to brag but I do a pretty good Mckinzey brother impression. So after I break it out, I get "Mr. Joey you sound just like the moose from Brother Bear" at this point I feel old. Anywho, we walk through Canada annoying everyone who hears us 'eh and we wait about 10 min to see Oh, Canada. When we walk in the kids are like "what no chairs:scared1: " the long drive and getting up early is starting to catch up with us. Oh Canada was really cool. It was now time to head over to Italy for our ADR at the Original Fettucini Alfredo place. As we go through each world, or should I say as we fight our way through each world, we take on the accent of each land. It was silly but it was fun. When we make it to Italy we muscle our way to the back and see a line that is soooooo looong that I think it will take an hour to sign in, So I just walk on in and to my delight find out that that is the no ADR line outside. Yeah! Jim and Stacie (you remember them, they are the other half of our Grand Gathering) have decided to skip dinner and just stay at the Coronado. So our table for 13 is dropped to a table for 8. While we were waiting our three sleepers were at it again
Disney043.jpg

We were seated at a big round table that I am sure is not usally there. It looked like it was set up for the bigger crowds. I sat the Kids on the outside and Sandi and I sat on the inside(Sandi really does not liked to be bumped) after the third time Sandi was bumped by the waitstaff she and I switched seats. For an appetizer we had fried calamari (great) lobster bisque(not so good) fettucini alfredo(Sandi and I liked it but the kids were not so impressed.) It was made with "real cheese" not a pre made cheese sauce. We did find out that the kids could order adult portions of the kids meal so it was pretty much spagetti and meat balls all around the other side of the table. Sandi got the Pork shank and loved it. I got the Lamb roast and it was great too. About 5:50 the staff handed out black party hats
Disney056.jpg

at six o'clock it was new years in Italy so we had a great celebration. The staff all gathered at the front and sang Italian songs
Disney048.jpg

one was the Italian National Anthem then they made a big conga line and went around the restaurant. It was pretty cool. Dessert was nothing special I think the kids were too tired to care at this point. The bill would have been over $265.00 dollars but it was all "taken care of".
As we left we called Jim and Stacie and they were still holed up in their rooms. The three oldest kids DD13, SDS15, and SDD12 wanted to go back and sleep so, we took them to the front of Epcot and sent them to stay with Jim and Stacie. On the way to the front it was crazy. While we were eating Epcot had started to pass out hats and horns for New Years. Imagine the entire free world with party horns. It was loud and in no order what so ever. It sounded like thousands of ducks all honking at once. On the way to the front the girls had to go to the bathroom so, I left them near TT and MS. When I got back I found Sandi but the girls were not there! Where were they? Let me show you

climbing trees! We drive a thousand miles, spend thousands of dollars, so the kids can climb trees.
Now that we have regrouped, it is around 8:00. At some point during the day we had gotten FP for MS between 8:50-9:50. We looked at the long forgotten tour guide sheet that had been hanging around my neck all day and decided to go to Future World. This place looks deserted, it is almost creepy that the park is SO CROWDED and there is no one here. We look around and head over to Body Wars waited for the ride in front of us to finish and got right on. Sandi loved this ride, the girls felt like they were going to be sick. We went over to Comando Crainium, that was neat. Again we just waited for the show in front of us to finish and we watched it with about 30 other people. Now that is more like it.:cool1: We head out of Future World and take this picture of the girls

Disney061.jpg

it was now time to use the MS FP. I know what you are thinking. Didn't the girls just say they were feeling sick? We asked them the same thing, and they assured us they would be fine. So on we went. Ever wonder what you look like when you take off and your face feels like it is going backwards? I look like this

Disney063.jpg

This ride rocks, but if you have 8 FP don't let the kids talk you into riding it 2 times in a row. 1st time great. 2nd time not so great. We grabbed a snack and headed over to The Sea. The line for Nemo was not out the door so we got in and walked through a maze... thinking that, hey there is nobody here either. WRONG, how long is the que for Finding Nemo? We don't know, because it broke down as soon as we hit the end of the line. Since this was down, we headed over to Turtle Talk With Crush. Once again we waited for the show in front of us to finish and we went right in. Here is the man/turtle/dude himself

Disney067.jpg

aftert Crush, we had to remind Bruce that People are friends not food

Disney068.jpg

We got the girls out of Bruce's tummy and headed over to find a spot for Illuminatios. We must have missed a parade of some sort, because we met these guys when we left The Sea

Disney069.jpg

Disney071.jpg

We get over to the crowd and I mean crowd, and try to find a seat where we could see any part of Illuminations but it was no use. We could see what time it was

Disney072.jpg

It's hard to see but it was 11:18 and 26 seconds, as shown on the back of the big ball. The girls were pooped out and Sandi and I were pretending to have energy.

Disney074.jpg

Once Illumanations started we realized that we could not see anything so we loaded up the girls and headed toward FT for one last ride. Half way there the clock struck midnight and it was New Years Day. I gave Sandi a little kiss :love2: and kept going to TT. When we got there we were rewarded with a direct path to the front of the line. Even the video room doors were open and we walked right through. With a new found energy, the girls were ready to ride again, but Sandi and I were READY TO GO. We hopped on the bus to go back to the POP and get the van so we could go get the other kids from the Coronado. The ride back took F-O-R-E-V-E-R. With a drunk guy from Chicago who was making a big donkey out of himself. We took the van to the parks rest of the trip.
We made it to the Coronado in no time but getting back to the Pop was brutal. We could not get into the right turn lane because MGM traffic had it blocked off with cones:furious: So we had to go down and make a U-turn and sit in the longest left turn lane ever. We get the kids down, which took about 3 min's and my sweet DGF gives me a cool new watch for New Years Eve. She's a keeper and around 3:00 we went to bed. And so ended the longest day of my life.

New years Eve tip, There were people who brought in blankets and were just sleeping in the grass. I kid you not at any given point in the day you could find someone asleep in one of the grassy areas of Epcot.

Don't ride the Bus on New years, drunk people make fools of themselves and irritate you when you are tired OR better yet, don't get drunk and make a fool out of yourself on the bus!

Join us next for a day in the Magic Kingdom.

Great installment. When our kids were little, the big atraction was the lizards in the grass. I wanted to tell them, "We have lizards in the backyard, don't waste Disney time on them," but it was their vacation too, so we let it go.

And why do people feel compelled to get drunk at WDW? Don't they want to remember their trip after shelling out the big $$$ for it? We saw a family passing around a bottle of vodka on the train at MK, and being loud, rude and crude. There's a magical memory for their kids!

There are plenty of places you can get hammered, If I had been coming from Downtown Disney on New Years Eve I would have excpected to run into that. Now I know better.

OMG the pics are great... You guys look so good as a blended family... I can't wait to read more...

hey everyone (Kat,Teresa,Virginia,Big Sis and Danielle) I will be updateing this Wednesday night. DGF had an accident last week and we have been takeing care of her. She had some bumbs and bruises but no "major" injuries PTL.

OMG Great tr Joey! all the pictures! Ya'll look so happy together! I  the picture of the 3 oldest sleeping together holding on to each other & the youngest 3 little monkeys in the tree! You & your dgf are such great parents & make a cute couple. Hope Sandi is feeling better.:goodvibes

Waiting for more.....popcorn::

OK when I last left you it was way late or way early either way I was tired. So tired I skipped the Mickey and Stich wake up call. We slept in and got going around 10am.
:offtopic:
I know, I know the guide books all say to go early on New Years Day but, I never read the Chapter for people with 6 kids who were ALL tired and Cranky except SDD11K she was WAY to happy. DGF and I were of course Awake and full of Joy:rotfl2:
:offtopic:

Any way we went down to Everything Pop and had lunch/breakfast. We had to add 2 more days to SDD12 ticket total cost 4 bucks:banana: We had to go back to the room because we forgot the cameras and then we were off to the Mgic Kingdom. It is now around 1 and the kids are gripping about ANYTHING and EVERYTHING I was ready to yell "WE ARE AT FREAKIN MAGIC KINGDOM SHUT YOUR TRAPS AND HAVE FUN" but that seemed counter productive so I called Jim and Stacie who were waiting in line for Splash Mountain and had fast passes for BTMRR. So we got ours and headed over to Tom Sawyers Island We still have a large # of cranky children. As we go through the caves we see this

Disney075.jpg

Scary but not a crowd pleaser so over the barrel bridge DGF and I took this

Disney076.jpg

She is so pretty. We make it to the fort and right before I load up the kids and drive back to Houston, I decide to play hide and go seek in the fort. Yea we are haveing fun at last. Next we headed over to Big Thunder Mountain RR. We meet up with Jim, Stacie and the rest of the kids and we are finally a Grand Gathering:cool1:(this really is a magical place) Jim tells our kids that this ride is Cheese (not scary at all) so half way through the ride they all (Jim included) start chanting "cheese, cheese, cheese" for the rest of the ride and on the way down the ramp. People were looking at them like they were crazy....and they were right. We grabbed fp's for Splash Mountain and headed over to Jungle Cruise, our tour guide was Bob and he was soooooo funnyhe had us:rotfl2: here he is and a couple of other JC pics

Disney080.jpg

Disney078.jpg

Disney079.jpg

That ride was great. The wait time when we went in was 10 min when we came out it was 40 So we went to PoC and waited about 30 min and took these pics 1st Is SDD11T, DD8, and JDD9

Disney081.jpg

Disney083.jpg

It was now time for Splash Mtn so we headed over and walked past the long line rode laughed and got wet. We also took this.

Disney084.jpg

why I took a picture of the frog and not Brer Rabbit is beyond me. It was time for our adr at CP and I mean as we came out it was time to be at CP.

Jim took off to get Space mtn to get us FP's, and I raced to CP. I will fill you in on that soon. But let me just say that it was great I guess Tigger had taken his meds that day. Join us next time for Lost......in Orlando.

She is still stiff. She has a low tolarance to medication and a high tolarance for pain:confused3 We think she can start driving next week still haveing a hard time turning her neck to the left. We have been car pooling since the accident so that has been nice. Thanks for checking, everyone.

As for Dis Unc we need to hunt hi, down on other threads and flush him out into the open. Then the Disboards mob can make him finish his TR or ........
.........does anyone have a rope!!!!

Great job on the installment. Love the pictures, and sweet kind daddy ready to blow when the kids get whiny. That carpooling is a silver lining, isn't it? DH and I have had to do that a couple of weeks in the last few months, and it's a nice way to start and end the day.

I'm finally catching up on the Limey reports! This is great Joey!

.....When we last left our Hero (uhtimex) he was running across MK to make it to the CP for a 4:50 ADR. What he didn't tell you was, since SDS15 was added he had to split the CP ADR into a group of 12 and a group of 2. Isn't that nice:sad1: SO I tell the old cranky woman with the hand held reservation checker thing that I am here and have 2 parties ...blah blah blah.. and she says I will see what we can do.(she may have done the voice of Roz the old lady monster in Monsters INC) well a few minutes later Dean calls "Joey party of 2" great we will now be seated on two different sides of the CP. So I ask "will the other party be seated near us?" Dean looks at me like this:confused3 and says "what other party?" so I blah blah blah him and he says "It will take about 20 min but if you don't mind we can get two tables right next to each other":worship: Dean is the man. While we were waiting I took these

The castle

Here is DGFD11K,DD13,DGFD12

Disney129.jpg

and a rare picture of SDS12

Disney087.jpg

Jim makes it back with with the SM fp's and DGF and Stacie make back from a store with clothes for Stacie. Once we are all here Dean (the man) comes out and gets all 13 of us for a feast of EVERYTHING. The Characters came by to greet us and we ofcourse took these pictures

Pooh with DD8

DGFDD11t Eyore and SDD12

Disney095.jpg

Now we took pictures of EVERY kid with EVERY charactor the last picture was DGF12 and Eyore but right before the picture the big Pooh and friends dance started so I told DGFDD12 that Eyore would be back after the dance. When Eyore went to the back I was really nervous. But, a few minutes later he came over and we got the picture. :woohoo: Dinner was great but when we checked out I was a dinner credit short. Sandi and I were shareing and I thought I had just lost count but the first night, we were hit for a double whammy and I was really 3 short. The front desk fixed it the next day ( more on that later) Any way we waddled out of CP and headed over to Mickeys Phil. here is one of the best pictures of the whole trip

Disney127.jpg

They are all so happy from age 8 to 13. If your kids are spread out that far you know how rare it is to see them all That happy at the same time.

Anyway, there has been a slight drizzle since we left the CP and Stacie and her dd wanted to go home. This morning I left her Cell phone in my car and we needed to give them a suitcase of Dirty clothes to take home the next day. So, my DGF offered to take them back to the POP( in our van) get our stuff and drop them off at the Coronado and head back. Great plan ( I was not really cool with them going by themselfs but I was assured that it would be ok. So They leave and we head over to HM short line and I was glad the kids did not start chanting "cheese" again. Then it was It's a Small World, Jim will never ride that again.
:offtopic:
Great I have to go uplaod some more pictures to Photobucket. Hang on.............. ok I am back did you miss me?
:offtopic:

Sing it with me....

Disney105.jpg

Disney108.jpg

Off to the Tea cups this was a crowd pleaser, as long as the crowd was 15 and under Jim and I watched, while the kids spun faster than should be allowed. Since I was not ready to give up my dinner I played with my camera

Disney111.jpg

Can we ride it again......maybe later. So off to ride Stitch this is DD8's favorite charactor. Again short line and we are loving life and hateing chili-dogs. Call Sandi no answer hhhmmmmmmm
We go over to Buzz Lightyear to save the world and of course we do but some of the Space Rangers were captured

Disney118.jpg

call Sandi no answer again HHHHHHMMMMMMMM
We rode Space Mountain it rocked her are a few happy faces from the space shuttle

DGFDS15 and DD13 or at least half of her

Disney122.jpg

DD8

Disney121.jpg

Get off call DGF STILL NO ANSWER. I am not a worriesome man but at this point I am pretty stressed and am haveing a hard time not showing the kids that I am concerened. I have not just been calling Her phone but the girls phones and Stacies phone and still NOTHING. Phone rings and it is DGF, but it is 7:25 and Time to start Crosspoint so I will have to tell you about here ordeal next time.
