So my best friend is addicted to Disney, but pretty poor. I want to take her to Disney World b/c she is already in a ton of debt from college and I have no idea when she will get a chance to go. We have always talked about going and I am making some good money now because I have to work stupid amounts of overtime and would love to take her to DW. The problem is she knows I have feelings for her, but we both have had problems with long distance relationships and have decided long ago to not bother until we live near each other. Am I crossing the line in taking her to DW for a trip, I wouldn't plan on doing anything romantic, just fun. I have also never been to DW with anyone who loves Disney so it would be a lot of fun. Finally... money doesn't matter to me, I don't spend money on anything other than vacations and trips so... am I crossing the line?

It would not seem to be from your discription, but you would have to be the ultimate judge for that. If money Is not neccerly a big deaL,maybe consider getting two rooms?.That will cost but that will diffently come accross as a trip between two friends. But If you feel compertable with your relationship with her then by all means go ahead, you come across as a good friend with a big hart.Good luck and have a great trip.:goodvibes

If you have to ask, then I think you already know the answer.

I hate to be negative, but it might come across as a bit patronizing as you've already said she's quite poor and you don't want her to feel like a "charity-case" as they say.

Go for it. You like her. She likes you. You both like Disney. Just might be the little push your relationship needs.

Make sure she knows it's a gift; she doesn't owe you anything. Ask her how she would feel most comfortable with the accomodations. You could get a Ft Wilderness Cabin that has two rooms. Or a DVC two bedroom villa. Or an All Stars Family Suite that has two sleeping areas. Or two connecting rooms at any resort. Or she might say get one room with two beds. Ask her.

I say go for it!! Explain to her that no one you know loves WDW as much as she does and you would love to go there and see the magic through her eyes!!! I don't think that she would think it was a charity case, but if she gets worried about the romantic part of it, tell her that's not the plan. The plan is to have fun and enjoy each other's company and she can help plan it all... anything else is just a bonus!! :thumbsup2

Good luck!!! Be sure to let us know how it goes!!!!

Threads like this belong on the Community Board and that's where this one is headed.

Thanks.

I don't think it's crossing the line to offer a trip to a friend who can't afford it if you can and want to treat them. I do, however, think it's crossing the line if you have feelings for someone and are, on some level, hoping for some kind of romantic connection to happen on this trip.

Go for it, but get separate rooms and keep your expectations in check. I wouldn't recommend Ft. Wilderness cabins in your case--no privacy for either of you and she might feel uncomfortable. But two adjoining rooms at a value or moderate won't set you back too much.

Good luck. Of course, we're all hoping you'll have a wonderful time and fall in love!

Life is short. Don't waste time on what ifs -- just ask her. What's the worst she can do? Say no.

Then you can be my friend. ;)

and if she comes knocking on the door in the middle of the night for a cup of sugar...

I say ask, then report back and let us know what she says! I have 7 hours until we leave and need SOMETHING to occupy my mind until then!

The line is where you both agree to set it. Who knows maybe it is time to renegotiate? Go on the trip, enjoy and see where things go. If she says no there are about 200,000 people here who will be your BFF. :rotfl:

ITA.

haha sharing a bed wouldn't actually be a big deal, we have done it before but I will get two beds.

Sorry to make this so anti-climatic but she already has agreed to, just maybe doesn't think I will actually do it.
