Cross your heart we're going! Cross it!An Unexpected April Adventure! TR Started!!!!

YAY! Time for some more trivia! You know what to do....name the movie, the person who says it and...if you want the ride equivalent at WDW!! Good luck!!!:goodvibes

"This won't do. What's the matter with you? All it takes is faith and trust. Oh! And something I forgot."

My husband refuses to watch any game show with me because I always yell out the answer. He'll ask me "why did you do that? why didn't you keep it to yourself?". My answer? "Because you'd never believe I knew it if I didn't tell you right then." :lmao:

I've been looking on the Disney Give A Day site to find information on doing the blankets. Haven't found it yet. It sounds like something I'd like to do.

Hi Everyone!! I hope you are having a good day!!Here is the answer to yesterday's trivia question--

Hi Lisa!!:goodvibes

Too funny!!! I do the same exact thing!!:thumbsup2 Keep on guessing!!;) It feels good to know that someone is playing along!!:thumbsup2

If you look on the Disney Give A Day site, after you have put in your zip code...scroll to the very bottom of the screen and click on where it says click here for HandsOn Network opportunities. It should bring up Project Linus info for a chapter in your area or it will direct you to the National Chapter. Just request info and they should email you back right away. I hope this helps!!:goodvibes

It's finally time to work on our Day 3 Touring Plans!! Since this entire day is completely new for us (well except the shopping in DTD) I have no past pictures to look back on from previous trips. We are very excited to try the waterparks....well I'll be honest the boys are really excited! DH and I a little excited (honestly, I would prefer to head to DHS...but we promised the boys and after 3 trips I can't put them off any longer:rolleyes:-especially when they know it's going to be a few years before we can return again.) So, that's where all of you come in! I'm hoping you can get me excited for the waterparks--tell me a favorite ride or post a picture even!!:flower3: I would love that!!! Okay, on with the plans!!!

Wednesday--Day 3--Typhoon Lagoon/Disney Quest/DTD

We will probably start this day as we would any other day...
-wake up, get breakfast at Pop and head to the buses! (the only difference about today is that the waterparks open up 1 hour later than the regular parks so that means we could actually sleep in!!!:woohoo: I can't believe it! Honestly, we've never done this before at Disney!:rotfl:
-After much debate, I think we have decided to visit........
typhoon-lagoon-.jpg

Why? Well...it was a tough one but...from all the research I did on the two water parks it seemed that Typhoon Lagoon wasn't as busy and more family friendly??:confused3 Plus the boys aren't the greatest swimmers so comparing the rides at the two parks, TL seems more laid-back. I guess we'll see!

-We obviously want to arrive at opening! Here is our wish list of things to see--
--GangPlank Falls-(family raft ride)
--Keelhaul Falls (tube slide)
--Mayday Falls
--Bay Slides/and Storm Slides
--Castaway Creek (lazy river:cloud9:)
--Surf Pool
(Nick wants to do the Crush n' Gusher...which I'm very surprised about because this is the kid who doesn't want to go on TOT or Rock n' Roller Coaster?:confused3 So, for any of you that has rode it before.....how is it?)

I don't really have too much of a plan/strategy on this day...only to hit the tubes and slides first before they get too busy! We will probably save the lazy river after lunch.

Some Fun Finds at Typhoon Lagoon that we will be on the look out for--

-The alligator totem pole located under the clock tower at Lagoona Gator's shack.
-At Happy Landings snack bar, a rack of outboard motors lets you squirt water through their props at Castaway Creek floaters!

Late Afternoon--Disney Quest/DTD

We are hoping that by late afternoon we will be on our way to DTD/Disney Quest. We plan to spend a few hours there and then head back to have some dinner (we're thinking of Wolfgang Puck Express...loved it last year!!) Then to finally get to do some shopping. I would like to visit--
--World of Disney
--Once Upon a Toy
--Lego Store (for the boys)
--Disney's Days of Christmas
--Basin
Last stop will be Goofy's Candy Co. to grab some yummy snacks before we head back to Pop for the night. Here are a few pics I have taken in DTD on past trips!

So there is our Day 3 plans....oh and remember to post a picture of TL if you have one or even share a story if you want. Help me get excited!!!;)

I think you've made an excellent decision for your Day 3. We like to get up and hit the water parks as soon as they open. This way, we have everything done (most multiple times) by early afternoon.

You guys really need to do Crush n Gusher. It was so much fun. I don't know if you remember or not from my trip report, but your booty bone will get beat around pretty good if you don't raise up a little as you go down the slide. Yeah, learned that the hard way!:rolleyes1 Is it as scary as the Disney coasters? I personally didn't think so and that comes from somebody who is scared to death of heights.

Don't forget that they have the shark reef at Typhoon Lagoon too. We've done that a couple of times but actually forgot to do it this past trip. You don't have to be an experienced snorkeler to do it. They'll give you a short lesson on how to use the snorkel and you'll soon be floating across the reef and looking at all sorts of fish and sharks. Hunter can float but he felt more comfortable using one of the life vests that they provide free of charge.

We usually hit the slides first thing in the morning before they get really busy. I think we did the storm slides and the other tall one (can't remember the name right now) five or six times each before the lines got long.

As far as Downtown Disney goes, you can't go wrong with anything there in my opinion. Disney Quest was a blast and that comes from a lady who doesn't like video games at all. Make sure you do Pirates of the Caribbean 3D, Jungle Cruise and Mighty Ducks. I never could get the hang of the Aladdin Magic Carpets but that could be because my helmet thing kept sliding back and forth.:confused3 John and Hunter built their own virtual reality roller coaster and were spinning all over the place. We bought the video once they were off. It was soooo funny!

Don't forget to pop into Ghiradelli's and get your free sample of chocolate. They give out the little miniature bars to everybody who comes in so make sure each of you go in.

Wow - I could take your post, word for work (except for the end of the day) and stick it over in my PTR! We've finally decided to take the boys to a waterpark this year. They too are more excited abuot it than DH & I are... :rolleyes1

We are also leaning toward Typhoon Lagoon, for the same reasons. I'm hoping TL isn't as busy & is more family friendly. Now if our niece & nephew (14 & 17) decide to come with us we may have to switch things up a bit... I'm also afraid that if we go to BB the boys will want to ride up the ski lift, but I hear the lines are very long for that! My boys don't do well with lines for too long... I've also heard that if you don't ride up the lift, the stairs are killer!

I'm not unexcited to try out a waterpark, but like you said, I'd rather be at one of the other parks. But now that we've decided to do it, I'm happy to try it out & see what it's all about. I'm just afraid this means we'll have to go again every year. :headache:

Woo-Hoo! We hit both waterparks last trip and loved them both.

Definitely do Crush and Gusher. It's not scary like a roller coaster...just fun! Your boys will love it! We did it over and over and over! Here are a few of my favorite pics.

The Shark Reef is cool. It does NOT cost extra...the sign is a little confusing, but the snorkeling is FREE. Jonah did it without a problem if that is a concern. He was 8 and had no issues...lots of lifeguards around and the instruction was well done. :thumbsup2

The surf pool is not my favorite although my boys LOVED it. I hate the being pulled under feeling and those waves are HUGE!

You'll have a fantastic day! And to top it off at DTD sounds perfect. Being in the water and sun all day is draining...you'll be tired!

Day 3 plans look fabulous! I can't show you any pictures of the Disney waterparks because we've never been there either. But we did spend a day at Great Wolf Lodge which is a huge indoor water parks and my kids loved it! They think Great Wolf Lodge is as good as Disney World:scared1: Trust me, it's not:rolleyes: Anyway my point is I bet your kids will love the waterpark! I predict it is the highlight of the trip for them.

Angie your plans sound great!! We would love to try a waterpark once Helen is a bit older, so I will be interested in what you thought of it!! Your plans for DTD sound great too, Cory and I ate at Wolfgang Puck Express and had a GREAT dinner there as well!!! I have only gotten candy from Goofy's but this trip I want to dip and sprinkle something, probably the pretzels, what do you like from there??

Your plans sound great! Shopping is one of my favorite things (unfortunately for my wallet...though I have gotten better, LOL!).

Typhoon Lagoon is fun. I personally preferred Blizzard Beach because the slides weren't as good at TL but I'm sure you'll love it. Crush 'N Gusher seems awesome. :thumbsup2

Typhoon Lagoon! We had soooo much fun going there for the first time last trip. Those waves are HUGE! Definately be prepared for a strong tug pulling you back once the waves crash over you and to have a death grip on anyone you're trying to hang onto! For something a little different, sit on the wall at the edge of the pool and let the water crash around you.

The lazy river is perfect for just taking it easy and relaxing. Oh I wish I was there right now! :cloud9:

Bring lots of waterproof disposable cameras. That's the one regret I have is lack of pics. Even the one camera I did bring I kept forgetting to keep it on my wrist. It was in the bottom of our stroller... :headache:

I personally didn't like Crush 'n Gusher but that was just the touchie bashing going on... I wasn't sitting on it properly and wasn't prepared for it. George and the kids loved it.

Slather on the sunscreen.... I don't really recall there being much in the way of shade or shelter but we were having too much fun doing everything to stop anyway. Yep, you'll sleep well that night.

My favs....

Disney Quest, shopping and dinner at DTD will be a nice cap off to the day. Packed, busy day! Pirates is a must do for sure and the Mighty Ducks pinball will have you laughing even if you don't know what you're doing! Make sure you do Buzz Lightyear too. That was a hoot.

Wolfgang Puck..... mmmmmm.

Hey get a funny picture in the mirrors at Goofy's!

Thanks for all the info Lisa!!:goodvibes I'm so happy that you enjoyed Crush n Gusher!! I'll have to go back to your TR and read again about your day at Typhoon Lagoon!! It sounds like you had a lot of fun!! I've asked the boys if they want to do the shark reef....and I think Nick does but Noah said he's a little nervous about it. I'll have to go on You Tube and see if we can give him an idea of what to expect...maybe that will help.:confused3

The boys are soooo excited to build their own roller coaster when we go to Disney Quest. I must admit I wasn't too thrilled at first to go there...but after hearing such great things about it from so many people. I'm actually starting to look forward to it!

Ooohhh...thanks for the tip on the Ghiradelli's!!Yum!! I could never pass up free chocolate!!;)

Hi Amy!

The ski lifts were another reason we opted to go to TL instead of BB. I really didn't want to spend all day waiting to get on one...but the thought of climbing all those stairs...ugh!!

I'm starting to like the idea of going to a waterpark myself. I just keep telling myself it will be something new to try, which will be fun! Plus, I know how much the boys are going to absolutely love it!!! :thumbsup2

Love your pictures Missy!!!! Thanks for sharing them! I remember reading on your TR how much fun you had!!:thumbsup2

The Shark Reef does sound fun!! Noah's a little hesitant to try though...hoping we can change his mind.;)

Okay, just seeing the pictures of the surf pool makes me nervous....because the boys aren't the best swimmers and I am so afraid they are going to be pulled under and get freaked out....especially Noah. Maybe we'll stay in the shallow end.:rolleyes1

Thanks!!:goodvibes Too funny that your kids think the Great Wolf Lodge is as good as Disney. My boys would probably say the same thing!! I remember the first year we went to Disney they were just as excited to go in the pools as they were to go to the parks!!!

Angie your plans sound great!! We would love to try a waterpark once Helen is a bit older, so I will be interested in what you thought of it!! Your plans for DTD sound great too, Cory and I ate at Wolfgang Puck Express and had a GREAT dinner there as well!!! Hi Beth!

The waterpark is all the boys can talk about!! It's so funny...they are sooo excited!:thumbsup2 Can't wait to go back to Wolfgang Puck Express!! It was really yummy!!;) So far at Goofy's we have tried the cookies and the pretzels. We thought the cookies were way too sweet but the pretzels were really good!! I think that's what we will probably go with again this year!!:)
