Hi everyone. I am fairy new to cross stitching and I noticed that Disney had some beautiful kits. Well, I decided to finally buy one. I bought Mickey Salutes America, and my question is...since it's such a big piece, should I use a hoop or a q-snap when I stitch? I've only stitched a couple of things, and they were fairly small (a coaster and hand towel). So I need some advice, I know I should gradually work up to a big piece, but I fell in love with the chart and want to work on it as soon as I can. Thanks!!!

Hi!

I would start out with a hoop. I started Mickey Salutes about a month ago, and I am just working on Mickey before I start the flag. I have a 14" hoop, which lets me work on Mickey as a whole.

Good luck!

I always use a hoop, even for large kits mainly because I like to be able to take it with me if I go somewhere, like the Dr's office.
Also. I would love a copy of that pattern if anyone has it and can make a copy for me.
I always regretted not buying that one years ago and it is not available anymore.
I have the original Castle with the large Tinkerbelle, and Self Portrait and can send copies of those if someone can make a trade.

Agreed. I always use a hoop to cross-stitch, maybe 10". Even on large pieces, I can move it around as needed, take it off to relax the material and fold it into my storage bag, etc.

i find it much easier with a hoop, the wooden ones are better i think. i use an 8"

i have the whole set of the disney cross stitch patterns if you need them mickey527

I use a scroll frame set. It can be adjusted for any size project and gets the parts that I am not working on out of the way.

Do you have the puppy love chart? I left the first two pages on the airplane while coming back from a trip to Disneyworld and am having a hard time recovering them.

Hey!

That e-mail address came back as a bad address. Do you have another one I can use?
