That is gorgeous! Did you do it on linen or aida cloth? Looks like linen. Did it take long. Looking at it I am not seeing a ton of shadowing or backstitching, so it may not have taken that long???

It was done on aida cloth, and I have not tried linen yet- too scared!!
It was an easy pattern- Butternut Road. You are right-there was very little backstitching and no shadowing.

Louise beautiful work.

My Mother was born blind,it never stopped her from any challenge in life. She attened Perkins School for the Blind. As a child I guess I never realized her talents. She would cross stitch, crochet beautiful table cloths and bedspreads, knit sweaters and so many other crafts.

My sister and I learned all these crafts at a early age. Some I remember, some I don't, I always loved cross-stitching and the beautiful results.

My only regret was never learning how to tat. Oh could she tat. She would make beautiful doillies. She would cross-stitch lovely patterns then tat the most beautiful lace around the edges.

Don't be afraid of linen! I was too, but once I tried it I would not go back to aida for anything! The linen is much more forgiving and a lot easier to work half stitches etc....you should try it!

I agree with F.A. - Once I tried linen, it's hard to go back to Aida.
