Cross stitch pattern design software

This probably belongs better on the creative forum but I figured that people would be more likely to see it here…

Does anyone design their own cross stitch patterns? If so, is there a software that you’d recommend? Preferably one that exports to PDF and bonus points if it’s available on an iPad.

DW does. She uses flosscross.com(?).

Upload a pic, give it the size and number of colors you want and it does the design. All free.

@sam_gordon Thank you for sharing that link. I've been looking for something like that, and you just provided me exactly what I was looking for. I just printed out 2 pictures and patterns, and I'm going to do some cross stitching!
