I posted over on the Restaurant board also.
I was trying to book for Nov 12 at 6:15 and I was having trouble so I called. At first the lady kept telling me she was getting an error code and it would not go thru. She tried calling someone else and came back and told me there was not a table available. Every table in every category was booked. I just thought it weird because it is still so far out. Is something going on at the World/Fort that I am not aware of?

Thanks for any input.

I thought there was someone over here that worked there so maybe that person would have some idea...

Scupper works there and may chime in shortly to give some input on the matter.

Here is my take:
Hoop Dee is expensive, and free dining is being offered during that time. When you put those two together, it goes fast.

I would keep trying. Here is why I say this. I am staying at the Fort from Nov. 15-23. I was trying to land the castle for breakfast during that week so my girls would have one meal with the princesses since we aren't doing the dining plan. I called and was told the entire week was booked for breakfast. I called literally only an hour later and was presented with three different days where breakfast was open at the castle, one of those days being a full hour before the park even opens. So keep calling back, and also, is there any way to expand your time? Such as another day or later show on that day? Being able to expand helps to at least get you a spot, and then you can keep calling back and see if the one you really want opens up, in which case you can book it and cancel the one that really wasn't what you were looking for.

The other difference I had was when I called the first time I was on the dining plan staying at Coronado Springs. When I called back I was off the dining plan staying at the Fort. Maybe there were cancellations during that hour...maybe it had to do with being on the dining plan...:confused3

Betmust,

This reminds me of the rumor last year about this time or a little sooner that HDDR was going to close for a refurb last fall. That rumor started because people couldnt book the show just within the 180 day ADR range.

I wonder if the same thing is going on now. I checked Trails End for various dates and times within 180 days and only got specific time offers within 30 days from now. Makes me think NOT EVERY SINGLE restaurant on property loads into the system 180 days in advance.

My advice is to make the rest of your ADRs and leave the HDDR date open and try periodically. I bet you it will open up and you will be able to get it eventually.

Thank you both for your help.

I ended up booking on the 12th for 4 pm show. I really didn't want that early but thats ok. I keep checking on line and calling to check but still saying no tables.

I have stayed at the Fort every year in Oct for the past 10 years - I also do the Hoop Dee Doo every year. I do remember that rumor last year (or the year before) - fell for it also and booked the Luau instead. Ended up cancelling that quickly....

I am always there over Halloween and never had a problem getting a table for that show at 6:15. Even waited to book 3 months out with no problem - thats why I think it is so weird for every Category to be sold out..

I will keep checking...

Betmust,
What dates in November you gonna be at the Fort?

1) I checked and found open tables on Nov-12 at the early and late shows.
2) There were some 6:15 openings for larger table sizes, but not 2-4 seat tables.
3) If you want the 6:15, just keep trying.
4) Cancellations happen all the time.

NOTE: As stated by tiggerdad, I do work there, but only a few days per month.
I rotate among WL-FW-GF throughout the month. Plus, I will pick up a couple of shifts
at sundry locations/jobs just to keep life interesting.

I will be there 11/12 to 11/18. Some plans changed this year so I won't be there over Halloween like I usually am.

Thanks for your help. I always go the day we arrive at the Fort. Then we have our nights free to do other things. As I said, I booked the 4pm but I will just keep checking and hope something opens for the 6:15pm.
I love the Sangria there and always have a glass or two (or 3 ). The 4pm may be a little early for me and my Sangria. At my age, I will asleep by 8 lol...

Maybe we'll see ya that week.
Haven't decided on going to HDR yet, boss...I mean wife, hasn't decided yet.

Do you camp or do cabins?
We have been doing cabins for years. Now it is just the 2 of us, I still want to stay in them.
We have a camper at home (Massachusetts) we are at all the time so we love the atmosphere of the Fort...

We camp, lot closer for me to pull camper from Mississippi than you from Massachusetts. We camped premium last time and will again on this trip.

My camper has an outdoor kitchen and a second entry door at the rear, so having a site with a sandpad at the rear doesn't work for me.

We'll be there 8 days but I only did 6 days of park tickets to give us 2 days for the Fort. Maybe we can meet and shake one of our days. Yankee and redneck kinda thing.

Sounds good - we would love to camp but our "trailer" is 40 feet. Quite a haul to take down. Thought about renting a trailer but the cabins are a little "splurge" for us..
