We are at AKV KV and will have diner at Epcot and was wondering how the croissants are from the french pastery place. Loooking for a breakfast idea. We do not cook in the villa but love something quick for breakfast. How much do they run? Also eating near the BW one night and thought about grabbing some there too.

I've been to Paris and the croissants and pastries at France in Disney are just as good as in the real France.

The Boulangerie Patisserie in France doesn't open until the World Showcase opens at 11 am. If you are at Epcot earlier, Sunshine Seasons at The Land has a croissant egg sandwich, so I am guessing you could get just a croissant.

The Boardwalk Bakery is open early but I am not sure if you would be allowed to walk through Epcot to World Showcase, in order to access the International Gateway exit to Boardwalk Bakery, before 11 am.

When Epcot is open you can walk through to the Boardwalk before 11am just turn right (left is not open until 11am) when facing World Showcase and walk past Canada and England to the International Gateway exit to the Boardwalk.

One of the Boardwalk Bakery workers told us last year that the pastries there are the exact same as the ones at the France pavilion in Epcot.

I got the impression OP was talking about picking some up at night for breakfast the next morning. We've done it and they're deeeeeeelish.

that's not been our experience. we refuse to purchase croissants from the boardwalk bakery - they are typically doughy and dried out, not all the way a proper croissant should be. actually, there isn't much we purchase any longer from boardwalk bakery, which really makes me sad because I remember the days, not long ago, when they made their own donuts. their overall quality has deteriorated, in my opinion, as they have moved from being a bakery to a counter service location that happens to serve baked goods.

we stop in at the Boulangerie in the evenings and purchase items for breakfast the next morning - their croissants are light and flaky and buttery. they also serve a cheese plate there that is a great deal for a decent price -three "safe" cheeses with fruit and a baguette for about $7. and if you like eclairs they have amazing chocolate filled ones that should be against the law.

Oh, I see now. Thanks. I guess I didn't comprehend the statement. Sure, that would work for the OP.

OP, the bakery in France has a delicious single serving ham and cheese quiche that I always bring back to the room in the evening and heat for breakfast the next morning! GREAT way to start the day!
I don't remember exactly how much they cost but I think it was $5 or $6 or thereabouts. Very well worth it IMHO!!

We have friends that lived in France for 10 years, and they said the croissants at France were exactly like the ones they ate in Paris. In fact, every time I go there, I have instructions to bring them back some.

On our last trip, I met a man who bought an annual pass (he's from Orlando) mainly so that he could go right at 11am to get pastries and croissants from the bakery in Paris.

He said he's a VP of a large company (don't want to out him) and he does this at least twice a week during his lunches (for his wife of course).

When we are leaving Epcot for the evening, we will stop at the French bakery before we head out and stock up on lots of things. We'll get a couple of creme brulees, a couple of croissants, some napoleons, eclairs, anything that looks great. All the the intent to eat them for breakfast and the next day. But odds are, we'll polish off at least half of the box before he go to bed that night. Those things are good.
