I have to join the Crocs love-fest! I was very skeptical, I have foot/ankle problems and usually have to bring several pairs of shoes with me to WDW. I always have to switch off every day, as my ankle swells and I get blisters on my little toes while walking. I read all the posts about Crocs and finally went to try some on. They were definitely comfortable, but would I be able to wear them in WDW?
I tried them out, walking in the park near my home just days after I purchased them. I wasn't thrilled, as the shoes are a little big*the website suggested getting them slightly loose* and they rubbed the top of my foot. But, if I wore them around town and at home, they were sooo comfy, I decided to bring them to wear at the resort, etc.
When we got to WDW, I accidentally left all my other shoes in the bags when they were checked with bell services. Ended up walking all afternoon in the Crocs and didn't even notice. In fact, the Crocs were the only pair of shoes I wore for our whole 9-day vacation, and didn't have a single problem with my feet!*ankles still swollen, but that was expected - I have pins/plate/screws* I tried switching to another pair of shoes one day, and they weren't nearly as comfortable, so I went back to the Crocs. I think the problem on my first walk was that I was wearing socks, and they were making my feet slide in the shoe, causing the rubbing on the top of my feet. When I wear them without socks, the rubbery material grabs my foot and it stays in place. I also had no problem with the tips of my big toes getting sore from sliding into the toe of my shoe like sometimes happens with my tennis shoes, as the Crocs are so cushion-y.
I did notice that when I wore them in the rain, I had to periodically stop to wipe water out of them. The holes that conveniently allow them to dry quickly also allow water into the shoe! This caused an annoying, squish-y feeling, but I'd just stop and wipe them out and it was fine.
I am definitely a Crocs convert! Love, love, love the Crocs!
p.s. I've got the Beach Crocs.
