Awhile back we had a thread on crocs.

I have been wearing them for a month now around the house and much better than slippers. Still want to try the RXs but haven't found any stores that carry them.

However today I spotted a new style at the crocs website!!
They are disney ones --rather than circlular holes they are in the mickey shape! They are cute and had to share!

I have the Disney Crocs on my Christmas list! I sure hope Santa is listening.

I've been wearing my blue crocs all weekend - and in fact wore them to work on casual Friday too!

I've found they are also good for Kevin - keep his feet a little cooler while he's in his wheelchair - but allow him to move his feet around without banging into anything. Does that make sense? Anyway - I've been putting these on him every once in a while, and I think he likes them.

i love my crocs, bought thema month or so ago and don't want to wear anything else!!!

As far as the CrocsRX goes, My Mom finally gave in and ordered some of the "Relief" ones off of the Crocs webpage. She has Plantars Fasciitis(sp?) and had previously worn heel orthotics w/ her beaches. She tried wearing the "Reliefs" without the orthotics, as the blurb made her feel that it might do well for her without the extra supports, and it seemed fine until the end of the day when her feet killed her! It was all my DH and I could do to get her upstairs to bed. :guilty: She now wears her orthotics w/ them and they do fine, but she doesn't have any intentions of shelling out extra money for the RX... she actually likes how the Beaches feel w/ the orthotics better.

To each his own, I know... but I thought I'd add this since there haven't been any threads out there written by people who have the Rx's.

My husband has the Planters Faciatas too and wears Crocs around the house and errands but he has to wear his inserts in them or they'd kill his feet!

I don't have foot problems but I've found that wearing Crocs out for a long period of time (like at the WDW parks) would make parts of my feet go numb! I can wear them here and there but I would never carry them as my only shoes on a vacation to WDW. I was thankful I had brought my Teva sandals too.

I also have really bad plantar fasciitis. So far after lots & lots of money spent on doctors & orthotics, the only relief I've found is Birkenstock's architect shoes. These have a soft gel heel in the cork sole. Unfortunately they've been discountinued & I think I've bought every pair in my size on ebay! I guess I'll eventually give the Crocs a try. I'm going to go check out the website & find out more about the RX ones.

What works great for some, doesn't seem to help everyone with this problem. :confused3

if you try the rx's report back how they are for plantar fascitis folks !
I also have diabetes

I put on the crocs first thing in the morning while I transfer husband etc and they are doing fine. The rest of the day until early evening I wear my new balance with inserts! then the splint at night!

MrsC,

Thanks for the feedback. I found that the beach and cayman worked great w/o the orthotics and wondered about the reliefs with the orthotics. Sounds like I should stick to them.

I will share this:
My plantar faciitis was diagnosed in February, but I'd been having problems for a long time prior to that. My podiatrist molded me for the orthotics. While waiting, I decided to give the crocs a try.

They worked like a charm, so much so that I now own 5 pairs. Even working on granite flooring wasn't too much of an issue (about 2 weeks of adjustment).

I just started a new job and my crocs were off limits. My heel is KILLING me, even with the orthotics. The other day, I forgot my regular shoes and called the boss to say I'd be late-I was in my crocs and needed appropriate shoes.

Well, I did stop and get dress shoes, but she okayed me working in the crocs. I think once she saw what my foot and leg look like (vascular disease, getting pretty advanced) she felt bad that she'd said no.

So 300 orthotics-waste of time and foot still hurts. 5 pairs of crocs were cheaper and worked like a dream.

If I can find the time to look into it further & then find them locally, I'll let you know! You'r day sounds like it starts off exactly like mine!

I'll start a new thread later today on an official report of wearing the Relief Crocs Rx when I get back from teaching my munchkins :)
