CROCS vs. Payless knock offs

What I want to know is why does the Crocs website have PURPLE NILEs that you can't order! ARGGG!!!! pirate:

I now have both the payless and the real CROCS. So far, the CROCS are more comfortable but not by much. They are pretty ugly and was slightly embarrased :guilty: wearing them to work the other day. However, they are so light, I didn't feel as though I have shoes on.

I was so excited this weekend! I saw a girl wearing red Crocs this weekend at the mall and I almost had a fit! I was soooo excited!!!!

My local Payless got rid of all their knockoffs!! The cashier said they weren't selling (Ohio) so they had to ship them where there was high demand. My co-workers wen to buy them (after I showed them mine). :(

All my friends think I'm nuts! I had the knock-offs, and when I went to Canada I found the real thing!! I was so excited. but I want purple ones! And now the Crocs website has purple Niles!

As to the original topic. After wearing both versions for a while, I prefer my Crocs. I think they are more durable, and they fit me better. But at half the cost, I'd buy the knock-offs, if I could get them anymore!! :sad1:

I haven't tried the crocs, but I bought a pair of the payless knockoffs. Not bad, but I'm not planning to walk around the parks in them. The two straps pinch the top of my foot ever so slightly so I'm not going to risk it. I've loosened the upper strap to help prevent the pinching so we'll see if that helps. Otherwise, it has molded completely to my foot and feels nice just not nice enough to usein place of tennis shoes. :)

I just returned from Payless and I bought two pair- buy one get one for 1/2 price- (they took the 50% off the clog as they were on sale for $9.99) the clog and the shoe with the closed toe and strap around the heel. I've had them on for about 30 minutes now and I love them. I tried on regular crocs and cannot feel any difference in the payless knock offs - they are so light and airy and I don't feel like I have a shoe on - hope I don't forget to take them off when I go to bed tonight! Thanks to all of you for all the good info on these shoes. They will be very helpful when we go to see Mickey in Sept.

I was at Payless the other day and talked with the sales clerk about the difference between the Airwalks and Crocs and she told me that they are made by the same company??? I am not saying this is true I am merely relaying the info. that she gave me! She said that because they are sold in a Payless they can sell them for less. I have noticed that the crocs have a silver label/tab on the straps and the Airwalks do not. I have tried on both and cannot really tell a difference. She also told me that in some parts of the country they are not selling well at all! I know she said that Tucson was not selling well and they were shipping them off to other locations. I know that here in the midwest they are really hot right now! She also said they are really popular for kids right now. Hope this info. helps someone!

I picked up 2 pairs yesterday for the BOGO deal at Payless. I can't believe how lightweight they are and soooo comfortable. Thanks to everyone here who recommended them.

I bought a 9 in the Payless version after wearing an 8. I'm normally a 9 1/2 and the 8's fit initially, but now my big toe is jamming into the front and I know this would get uncomfortable at WDW.

Just after I bought the last black pair in my size...they are selling out in my area of MN.....I walked down a few stores to Hallmark and they had actual Crocs!!! I was kinda mad, but figured I'd buy them if I liked them. The thing was that when I tried on the Crocs, they bunched up about two inches down from my big two when I walked fast (I really tried them on...the Hallmark ladies must've been rolling their eyes) and I know this would create a blister at WDW. So I'm sticking with the Payless version as they have been nothing but comfortable and easy on my feet and legs!

Looks like I will have to go get the payless version! I saw them in the commercial the other day and was wondering how they felt.

I just tried them on today but one size(normal size) seems to big and the smaller size seems to tight. I guess I won't be wearing them until they come out with half sizes. :sunny:

hi,

i usually wear a 9.5, but the 9's fit me just right,,,,i even tried on an 8, but thought my toe would bump the front after a while,,,they are soooo comfie,,i have both the clog and the sandal style,,,,they still have them in the mid atlantic,,,will they come out with winter colors?

thanks,wendy :flower:

I bought the Payless clog version last week (my store had TONS of them) and they're comfy, but they're certainly not as comfy as I expected. Just regular comfy shoes, not "walking on air" or "you don't even realize you have them on." Also, I bought pink ones, and they look *filthy* after wearing for only one day. But my biggest issue is that the heel is very low - it almost feels lower than the toe area. Is this something that will change as the shoe molds to my foot? And do the real Crocs feel the same way? My verdict... certainly nice for less than $10 (I paid half price), but not the be-all and end-all of comfy shoes. My husband's verdict... (a) "What ever possessed you to buy those?" and (b) "You look like a Disney character." :rotfl:

I tried them on at Payless yesterday. I usually wear a 7 but it was too big as was the 6. I didn't see kids sizes at our local store. The airwalk sandals sz 6 fit but I was unsure about the buckle.

I tried on real Crocs at a Hallmark while I was out of town and Ihad a similar experience.

Any advice?

I bought a pair today they are comfortable but don't seem to have a lot of support to feel my feet and ankels wouldn't be hurting after a day of walking at WDW. Plus my husband was looking at me like I had two heads  and said he would refuse to be seen with me even my daughter didn't defend me.She turned her head and started whistling when I asked her if they really looked that bad?Shes 7!
A coworker thought they looked too big for my feet and I bought 2 sizes smaller than I would normally wear.
Verdict: I will probably bring them but only wear them as slippers around the hotel room.

My DH, DD11 and I just got back from WDW and we didn't notice too many people wearing crocs on our first day of park hopping but when we went to Disney MGM on Tuesday we saw LOTS of crocs...beige, red, green, orange, blue, white, yellow. My daughter had her Airwalks on and we were both pointing out all the croc wearers - apparently everyone was in the mood to wear them that day!! I wore my Niles off and on with my Teva flip-flops during the few days we were there and I wasn't embarassed at all in spite of not seeing anyone wearing the Nile style - they were comfortable and that's all I cared about!! I didn't try wearing them all day in the parks because I found the top of my foot got a little sore where the edge of the sandal rubbed (if that makes any sense!!) but they were the first thing I put on after getting back from a day at the parks.

Question about the Nile sandal, can you wear the strap either filpped to the front or around the heal like you can on the Beach version?

I went to the Payless site and looked for Airwalk, and could not find the croc knockoff. When I searched sandals, there were 18 pages of sandals, and I didn't see these, maybe I just missed them.

I also tried to look them up on the payless website and was unable to find them. I will go to the store sometime this next week to try to find them.
