Crocs - socks or no socks?

They are ugly but too comfortable.. I can't wear sneakers anymore.

I like to wear socks with them so i wear black sweat socks so you don't notice it as much as my crocs are black too.

they are ugly but i love mine. I have caymens but will not wear socks.

They are not ugly, you just look like Pinocchio when you wear them. :rotfl:
I wear socks that coordinate with the color of the shoe= most comfy for me!
I wear them to work, leisure, 3 WDW trips and an Alaskan cruise. Can you tell I love them?

I am planning on wearing socks when I wear long pants (jeans) and no socks with shorts/capris. My question is: Do you wear the strap in the back or over the top?? I saw more over the top when at Disney last week.

My granddaughter's Crocs rubbed a blister on the top "side" of her foot after one day of wearing them, so we chose to wear colored ankle socks after that. My grandson (4) also did better with socks with his. I wore mine without....so it just depends on the person..

And who cares what others think....go for comfort.
When my granddaughter became ill at the Animal Kingdom and we visited the first aid station, there were two children who came in to be "doctored" for blisters all over their feet.

If you need socks, then wear them....no one knows me when I am at Disney!

Let me start off by saying I just got my first pair and plan to wear them in Disney. Not to hurt anyone's feeling or anything but - Crocs are so ugly does it really matter whether you wear them with or without socks!!:lmao: Seriously, if we were all going for looks and not comfort, would we be wearing crocs!!

I plan on trying without socks first to see how it feels, although I've walked around the house without socks and my feet sweat so I will probably wear socks.

LOL!! I agree completely with this!! I think they are horrible looking as well but even so ended up getting a black pair. And now I know why people luv them so much!!!...even tho they are hideous looking. As stated above as ugly as they are who cares about the socks? It's not going to make them any uglier (or less ugly) then they already are. :) I'd say make the decision based on comfort only..not appearance...which you already have done since you purchased them in the first place. However I also agree with the other poster who said they wear black ankles with their black pair...If you coordinate the sock color with the color of the croc...they won't stand out as much and probably look just a little better...

My family makes fun of me and my crocs all the time...and I call them my Ugly shoes...but I STILL luv them!! :)

I find them more comfortable with socks (I have the Cayman Crocs). I get very low cut "novelty" type socks (I have them with flowers, leopard print, stripes, all sorts of cute patterns). If the socks are low cut (below your ankles) I don't think they look bad.

Face it, you're already wearing a dorky-looking shoe, so why not be comfortable? I say, bring 'em along so you'll have them if you need them.

I'd wear it whichever is most comfortable for you!! Wear them around at home and see which you like better. I only seem to wear my with the strap up...they are just more comfortable to me that way...but I'm sure there are others who like the strap down...Whichever feels best---go with it!!

I personally find them more comfortable with socks on, so thats how I wear them!!! I am actually thinking about picking up a pair of the croc socks (on their website) to see if those are better with crocs than some other brands.

Just back after 9 days and I vote for Crocs with socks. No, it isn't the prettiest sight. But, I have NO blisters or sore spots on my feet!!!

Love Crocs!

I got my first pair - fushia Mary Janes - two days before I went on my weeklong trip. It was May and not super hot, but even on my *best* day (15 hours straight in the Magic Kingdom) I had no blisters, just tired feet.

But it seems to me, from reading the posts, that it might matter more HOW your shoes fit. Mine are loose all around, the top strap hardly even touches my foot.

Have fun!

If I am just casually lounging around I can wear my Crocs without socks but if I have to walk any distance I must wear socks or the back strap will rub the skin off my heel.I found this out the hard way while walking at the mall.I must admit that I have never thought of matching the sock color to the shoes. It sounds like a great idea.I guess that I need to go out and get myself some blue and purple socks.:thumbsup2

Crosc with socs in the parks but no where else. I don't like the look but I have tender feet and the bottom of my feet hurt really bad if I don't wear socs to the parks.

I'm a sock gal, i hate the way they feel without them.

:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: I had to laugh when I read this. My ds7 loves to wear his crocs with socks and I'm always telling him to take the socks off because it looks funny and my dh one day finally said "if you care so much about his feet not looking funny, why are you letting him wear crocs, they are funny looking enough by themselves" and he made such a good point, I haven't said anything to my ds since when he has socks on with them.

I'd say go with whatever is the most comfortable for you. Like the above poster said, if we were going for looks, we wouldn't be wearing crocs in the first place.

Can I also add that I love crocs for my kids in the summer. My ds is 7 and my dd is 6 and although they both know how to tie their shoes, they aren't the best at it. And we have a wooded backyard, so it gets pretty muddy during the spring and fall. Before they got crocs it would be such a pain when the would go to play in the backyard, because I would always tell them to take their shoes off if they were coming in the house to get something (which they seem to do every five minutes) then they would ask me to retie them and the gym shoes were hard to clean. But crocs, slip on and off so easy, are easy to clean and I feel give a little more protection than flip-flops do. So, crocs may be funny looking, but they have saved my carpet and sanity this spring!!

My ds5 also loves to wear socks with his, but my dd5 wears hers sockless. We're going on a short WDW trip in two weeks and from reading all the replies, I think I'll take socks for everyone, just in case.

I love being able to just rinse off the crocs after the kids have been playing in the mud or sand. We haven't even bought sandals yet this year, because the kids are so happy in their crocs.

I wear crew socks with mine, but only at WDW. I have been the victim of the mysterious "Disney Rash". Mine is caused by the reflection of the sun from all the pavement. I know this because I freaked out once and went to Centracare. Anyway, they look really nerdy, but at WDW I just don't care. We were there last week and my 11 year old neice was horrified at my appearance. But I was comfy and safe from my rash!

I wear mine with, and without socks. Usually sockless when it's hot and when I'm wearing shorts, or capris. When it's cold (I'm in So. Cal. so that means anytime the mercury dips below 68!) then I put on socks-the little sockettes type though, no crew socks.

Sometime, my feet will get hot, through my Crocs, when walking, or standing on hot asphalt for an extended amount of time. But I've never really had that happen at WDW or DLR.

Besides the no blisters (non of my Crocs don't rub my feet anywhere) and less tired feet, the next best thing about Crocs is that when it rains, it doesn't matter if you're feet get wet! They are great for walking through puddles:cool1: . Also, they work well at the water parks too! I used to wear water shoes to the parks before I got my Crocs, but I find Crocs more comfortable, and they float!.

Have a great trip-we're going in just under 3 months (ticker just went to under 3 months today! :grouphug: )

My kids wear them without socks, although my son asked if it would be ok to wear them with socks inside the house. :)
