Literally! I bought Crocs Beach last winter. Wore them all winter and spring, and thought "these are awesome". Well, I wore them at Disney for first week of June. My feet swell in the heat, so maybe that is what caused it, but the top of my right foot (right where the edge of the shoe is) got messed up from the stupid shoe. At Disney, it completely rubbed the skin off an area about 1 1/2 inches wide. (And hurt really bad). Well, here it is 3 months later, and that area is completely discolored. The skin had grown back and healed within 2 weeks. But it is completely dark brown now and looks so odd!Just a warning in case this happens to anyone else.

wow that's terrible (and kinda gross but no offense!) I'll be sure to bring my flip flops too in case my new crocs start bothering me! Thanks for the warning!

Snow white, did you wear socks? I find I have the same problem when I am walking a lot in them. And just on my right foot! :lmao: But as silly as they look with socks, can you imagaine just wearing one sock?:rotfl: They are too comfortable to give up on, so I just wear socks and that has stopped the rubbing. Good luck!

Wow that is terrible! Have you tried body glide on your feet to keep blisters from forming? I read about it on another thread!?

About three months before my trip to WDW I bought a pair of crocs to wear at the parks. Well about a week before my trip I noticed I had no tread on them. I walk 10 hours a day at my job. lol

I had read another poster say how she loved her Teva Mush flip flops. While out at the store wondering if I should spend the money on a new pair of crocs to wear them out again, I noticed the Teva's right next to them and they were on sale for 20.00 Canadian.

We just came back Sunday and I wore these my whole trip. I forgot to bring my body glide and I never once had a blister or a sore spot or sore feet for that matter. These are sooo comfy, they are thick and cushy and have good tread on them. The material is cloth so it doesn't hurt between your toes. I brought my crocs on the trip with me and my tennis shoes and never once wore them or brought them out of the suitcase. I love my teva flip flops!!!!

I bought the Montrail flip flop shoe for my next trip, I put them to the test :teacher: and they did not pass:scared: I have a blister above my second toe from the thong:headache: The shoe bed seemed to get warm the longer I walked:sad2: Now I'm going to try the Clarks Privo sandal, they are really comfortable:cloud9: and no thong:scared: I't kind of funny how I shopped all day in Naturalizer sandals to buy comfortable sandals and by the end of the day my feet felt great in the shoes I had on.:upsidedow

Flip FLop challenged here.

I got thast same brown spot on my left foot. I have worn my Crocs daily since May. I go the spot within the first month. It is gone now. I don't remember when it went away.

Although I love my crocs. I don't feel that I could do a lot of walking in them. I always get WDW blisters between my toes and foot no matter what I wear.

My feet must sweat because they always feel damp in my Crocs. I work in a 70degrees or less room due to the computers and mainframes, and they still sweat.

I have a high instep and the first pair of Crocs I bought rubbed (only my left foot). I called Crocs customer service and asked if I could do anything about it. He told me that I could use a blow dryer, heat the Croc, and gently stretch it. So that's now SOP for me.

Give it a try.

No, they weren't flip-flops style. They were the beach style. And yeah, I did have to wear socks for the last 2 days (and mole-skin and bandaids..). That was the only way I could wear a shoe after it happened. Oh, and I did use Body Glide faithfully. I put it on while I was getting ready in AM to give it time to dry, and I carried it to the parks and reapplied about twice a day. Body glide is great for thighs and other rubbing areas, but I didn't notice it helped my feet at all, unfortunately.

i'm so sorry this happened to you, snowwhite...i had the SAME problem last september. i've got a permanent scar on the top of each foot at the exact spot you described. needless to say, my crocs will miss my upcoming trip.

If a newly healing scar is exposed to the sun too much, it will turn a dark brown color permanently. So if you guys have healing skin, put sunscreen on it! Last year for disney I just bought one of those travel sunblock sticks, like a big tube of chapstick to rub on my foot scar. I had surgery and the doctor told me not to let the sun hit it or it would turn dark brown. Just an FYI. :goodvibes

After a few days on one of my trips I noticed the Crocs rubbing where they never had before. I switched them out with a different type of shoe and now alternate every other day. There is too much walking in WDW for my feet to wear the same shoe everyday.

Great tip! Thanks! :thumbsup2

About 4 years ago a brand was introduced to the market called "Nothinz". You could only get them mail order or - in my case - at a county fair via a travelling sales person. If I'm not mistaken, Crocs came out later. Anyhow, when I bought my first pair of Nothinz, the sales person advised me to buy them a size larger than my normal shoe size to prevent rubbing & blistering. I've never had a problem with the Nothinz, but have had problems with Crocs. Also, I don't think the density of the sole on the Crocs is as good as the Nothinz.

I buy mine through shoes.com. They're the same price as Crocs, except shipping, and sometimes I can get the shipping waived if they're having a special.

Just thought I'd share.
