Crocs Sandals/Flipflops

I have known about Crocs for a few years - first heard of them right here on the DIS. (I'm mostly a lurker.) Anyway, I never got any because I couldn't get past how weird they look. Yesterday was my birthday and my "personal clothes police" daughters got me the cutest pair of Crocs for my trip next week with DH to WDW. They are called Malindi and look like ballet flats with an open heel and a strap on the back. Adorable and very comfy! In just a few days I'll find out if they are good for walking all day! :yay:

OK...I am another original croc hater...think that they are ugly but that is my opinion. I searched the site and found a pair I liked. They are the Celeste canvas in brown. They were out of my size on the croc site...found them 1/2 off at finish line $24.98 plus shipping...found a 10% off code. They had several different ones on sale. I have my eyes on the capri or crete canvas but want to see how these fit...the capri are 25% off at finish line also.

Do you think the Cleos would support your feet at the park all day?

croc cleos are great! I wore this past november when I was 7 months pregnant and never had a problem!:thumbsup2

I recommend the Athens..I have three pairs...we're leaving in two days and these are the only shoes I'm bringing..I live in them all summer. Since they are already packed, I'm wearing other sandals today & can tell the difference. The only issue is I hate going thru airport security in sandals w/o socks so I'm bringing my other favorites (Lands End mesh sneakers) for the trip down.

I am wearing out my 2nd pair of Athens.

Me too! This trip, my Athens crocs were the only shoes I wore in the parks. I wore my Merrills on the plane and to church, but the Athens the rest of the 8 days. I took my cleos, wore them for a little while, and had to switch. And the first year of my crocs, I tried to wear the beach clogs - but my feet were WAY TOO HOT. Athens for me!!!

I have to admit, I got some Croc Tikalis (I think?) and they are THE most comfortable thing I have ever worn!:thumbsup2

why did you have to switch? was it because they are slip ons? I was afraid these would slip off easier than the flip flops. One of the reasons I haven't decided on the adaras yet.

I think you may have all convinced me....I'm going to check out the Athen's crocs tomorow. :thumbsup2

I received my Celeste in brown today...OMG they are so comfortable! I am going to order some flip flops today.

Sorry, I meant the Croc Patra's. The straps are too thick, so they were rubbing with a lot of walking. My Cleos I brought as my 'dressy shoe". lol I am pathetic. I have the Beach Clogs, the Athens, the Cleos, and the Patras. LOL Beach Clogs WAY TOO HOT for summer in Florida, and the Patra's straps rub too much. The Athens were the best for me. The Cleos are nice for limited wear, but they don't seem to have enough support for your foot, the way the Athens do. Just my findings, of course! ;) (I have a tiny foot - my Athens are actually children's size.)

I think a comfortable pair of shoes is enough. I think clogs only look good on little children though :) I would not wear flip flops...too little support for your feet.

Ok. So I have always been one of those who swore never to buy into crocs. Yes, the traditional ones are ugly. Never. But the rest of their shoes are pretty cute! I just bought a pair of Capri flip flops and I love them! So comfortable. I listened to the Teva Mush tips and tried those on at the store, and they just weren't as comfy. Maybe my feet are too big. (I wear a 91/2 or 10 preferably wide.)

So here is my question to all you Croc people. Which of the sandals are do you wear and recommend? I want to buy at least two more pairs for my trip. So many colors to choose from!! Any of the non flipflop variety any good? Thanks for your help!

I saw this post and had to laugh because I swore I would never, ever wear crocs. But yesterday I was at the local mall and was delightfully surprised by the new selection of flip flops and sandals and slip ons that are SO cute. I haven't bought any yet but I'm thinking of getting at least one pair of them for my trip next April. I figured if it rains or my feet get wet on some of the rides then they'll dry out quicker than socks with tennies.

Yeah, its probably not good that a croc's store is opening next month in the outlet center that I work at, almost right across from my store!

OK, after reading this thread I have to ask...should I buy crocs for me & my family? We will be in WDW in Sept. for our first trip & I want everyone to be comfortable...We usually wear flip-flops, even my 2 year old ds wears them (the kind WITHOUT the strap around the back). We HATE to wear tennis shoes in the hot weather, so what do you suggest? Remember you're talking about me, my dh, dd 6 years old & ds 2 years old (we will have a stroller for them in the parks, but they will have to do some walking). I'm open to suggestions.....

I have to say, the Crocs Athens flip flops were awesome. I loved mine. DD loves her Crocs Capri flip flops, but the don't come in my size (kids!) and I prefer the Athens anyway!

I have had my Capri flip flops for a few weeks now and they are awesome. I thought about also buying some Athens cause I really liked the color options but when I tried them on I did not find them nearly as comfy. The Capri's have an extra cushion in the heel that the Athens don't. I guess I am spoiled from the Capri's!

Hi
I love the Croc Scutes. They are so comfortable. I got a pair of the new Adara yesterday. They are really comfortable also, and a lot more stylish. They're so lightweight. I can't wait to try them at DW for my August trip. I have 2 pairs of the Scutes, so I'll be wearing them also. I just got the kids scutes for my DGD (5) and she loves them. My DD has the Patra and never had any problem with the straps rubbing, like another poster mentioned. If a strap rubs, I would just put it in the dryer for a minute and pull up on it a little. Thay should help. Also, she wore them everyday last summer at DW and said they were so comfortable.

I have always sworn by wearing good, supportive running shoes with socks to the parks. I have to have support or my back hurts something fierce after no time at all. This past May I took my running shoes and a new pair of Cleos which I intended to wear to the pool, maybe around Downtown Disney. The day we arrived (I wore the runners on the plane) my shoes got wet. Thoroughly sopping wet. I had no choice but to wear the Cleos until I could get out to buy another pair of supportive shoes. Well, I never did buy that other pair of shoes. The Cleos were AWESOME ! I wore them all day to all parks. Lots of walking and NO back pain at all. They look like little flimsy things but somehow they are just perfect for me. I also like the fact that the straps go so far back on the foot. The problem I have with flipflops is that the straps are close to your toes and the shoes flip around. The straps on the Cleo kept the show firmly on my foot. I would completely recommend the Cleos to anyone !

Wow, tggrrstarr! You're talking about the Aurora outlets Croc store that's supposed to open in August. I've been anticipating the opening of this store! My bf and I were excited when we heard about this b/c we want to try on all the different styles to get a 'feel' for them for our trip this September. Glad to know that there's another DISer so close to home! :cool1:
