Just looking for some input for our upcoming July trip. We usually don't go in the summertime, so socks and sneakers is usually the order of the day at WDW. However, I'm thinking that might be a bit much for mid-July. Seeking advice on cool light shoes, especially for the kiddos. I think DH and I have decided on Teva's but for the kids, how are the crocs? I hate the look of them, but kids seem pretty comfy in them...recommendations? I want something where if they feel like running through some random pop jets at the park, or they get wet on Splash Mtn. Or Kali River Rapids, it won't matter. Thoughts? TIA.

I used to wear Teva's, and now, I wear Crocs to the parks in the summer.

I still like my Teva's, but Crocs are easier for slipping on and off, and truthfully, they are more comfortable.

My daughter (who is seven) wears Crocs, too. The Teva's aren't as comfortable to her, so we have never bought them for her. The straps bother her. She loves her Crocs.

Not having ever put them on, are you ever afraid of them falling off, like on a ride? Or do they strap on somehow?

If you have never wore Croc's and have wore Teva's I would stick with the Teva's. I bought a pair of cute Disney Croc's for our trip 2009 Sept wore them all over the place at home and work to get use to them. Did fine with them for everyday use, BUT When I got to disney Epcot our first day, Half way thru the day I started getting blisters:scared1: Thank God I had brought my tennis shoes and Teva's :woohoo: Blister Guard and Mole Skin over the Blister's I survived the rest of the trip. Some people love them and swear by them! I wear mine at home to do garden work now, they clean really easily;) Good Luck and have a great trip

I love my Teva Mush Flip Flops. I wore them everyday on our trip last September. We usually get to the park at rope drop and it is not unusual for us to still be there when it closes. My Tevas were comfortable all day.

Me too! I usually switch off between flips and tennies so last year I bought my first pair of Teva mush flips and another pillowy type of sandal. I ended up wearing the Mush almost the entire trip. DD's feet started to hurt in her shoes, so the only time I wasn't wearing my Tevas was when I lent them to her. We would trade off to try to save her feet. We will both get a new pair for this year! :thumbsup2

Never heard of Tiva Mush. I use to wear the regular teva sandals years ago. I might try to find some of the Mush's online and order. Do they run smaller/larger than other shoes or about normal?

I super big puffy heart my Teva Mush flops. They are the most comfortable pair of flip flops I have every owned in my life. I also like my Tevas with straps too FWIW. BUT I can't stand to wear the Mush flops in the rain. So if it rains at WDW I change into my Crocs flops as soon as I can and wear those the rest of the day.

Get both is my suggestion.

My kids pretty much live in Crocs all summer. They don't care for flip flops.

Hmmm, so they're not good when wet? I normally don't ride any water rides but I figured my kids might like splash mountain and whatever other wet ride is at WDW. I want something that can get wet though.

I have both and use both at Disney. I wear my crocs most days, but if my feet are feeling beat up, I spend a day in my Teva's....just to give my feet a change of pace.

DD and I wear both. We alternate days between the two. We don't wear Crocs clogs though, we wear the flip flops. I tend to have more trouble with the thong part of Crocs flip flops than my daughter, so if I can't find them that have a cloth or soft rubber thong, I will wear Adidas flip flops (not the ones with the gel footbed). They don't look like they would be comfortable for walking around all day, but they really are.

If you get the regular Tiva Mush then they run true to size(I wear a 8 1/2 tennis shoe and an 8 Tiva Mush). If you get Tiva Mush II then they run small. I had to get a 9.

Also, I know that alot of people say they have problem with their Teva Mush when it rains but I have never had any trouble.

How do the Teva Mush flip flops compare to Yellow Box flip flops? I LOVE my Yellow Box, but have never tried Tevas. The only problem witht the Yellow Box flip flops is they squish down and become less comfortable after a while. Do the Tevas do this?

Thanks. I have a pair of Croc flip flops that are 10's (what I normally wear in tennis shoes) and they are a tad big on me. I may try and find the tevas locally so I can try them on.

Another vote for Teva Mush - LOVE those flip-flops. I've worn them the last two trips and they are extremely comfortable and cushy. In water, I think they have good "traction".

I also have Crocs buit find that they can get slippery in water, especially if the sole isn't new/new and has some wear. Your results may vary!

I wear flip flops and light sneakers or mary janes and usually swap out when we come back for an afternoon break. However, last trip I bought the Teva Mush flip flops and wound up wearing them the entire 12 days. No issues. Very comfy.

I also bought some for my teen DD.

My younger kids wear crocs. I also bring them each a pair of sneakers so we can swap out, but they usually wind up wearing the crocs almost the whole time.

Just a note, a bought myself Mickey croc flip flops a few years ago and I cannot wear them. Even just walking out to get the mail or in the yard they feel pinchy and have given me blisters. I gave them to DD (who wears the same size, but her feet look more thin/narrow than mine) and they bothered her the same way. No way we could ever wear these in the parks. (However, we both had a pair of Airwalk flip flops that were so comfortable we wore them out. They look just like the crocs, but the fit was completely different)

I was just out on Amazon.com looking at Teva Mush flip flops and found out that Teva brought back the original Teva Mush last November. This is great news because the Teva Mush II was smaller and narrower. So if you are going to get Teva's definately go for the "Teva Original Mush" unless you have a very narrow foot. Right now you can only find them on Amazon and they are sold and shipped by Teva. There are only two color choices right now but they are supposed to come out with the full line this month or next.

We buy new Recap mush sandals every year. We bought original mush last year (not mush II). The size was right (hubby and I have wide feet), but the mush was different, nowhere near as "mushy" or comfy. Did anyone else notice this? Has anyone bought any recently, were they real "mushy"?
