ok i'm going in August - can these be worn all day???? do you switch off with sneakers/socks???

thanx

1st family disney trip..........

They're great for all day :) I wear mine all day every day - at Disney or not :)

I love crocs BUT I read that when they get too hot they MELT!!!!! I wonder if the ground will be hot enough to melt the crocs if it's true...

I wore my Crocs my entire trip and LOVED them! No socks, just my feet. It was wonderful! Already have them on my list to pack for my next trip. Whohoo! :cool1:

For the crocs--how long is the "breaking in" period--I have heard they conform to your feet, is that per wear or once molded--they stay in that way. Thanks--these shoes are so very popular despite they're somewhat odd look. But I have tons of "ugly" shoes that I would never dare get rid of because they are so very comfortable and functional. :thumbsup2

Can anyone tell me how "true to size" Crocs are?? Should I order a Large if a wear a woman's size 9?? I think they aren't the nicest looking, but from everything I'm reading on here, I might give them a shot. Thanks!! :sunny:

You might want to head to a mall and try some one and buy them there (or order after you try them on). It is hard to figure out the sizes. There are a couple of stores in our mall that carry them, and I like in a small city. Call around and see who carries them.

Crocs are very difficult to size. I went through several pairs before I found a decent fit. I am a 9 1/2 narrow normally, and I ended up with a size medium Crocs (8/9 womens) or a size 9 in the styles that come in whole sizes. My toes did touch the tip of the shoe though so I put the shoes in the dryer for about 5 minutes and took them out while they were warm and spongy. I wore them with a pair of thick socks on my feet until the shoes cooled off and then they fit just fine. The size large was HUGE on my feet. If you are a half-size normally and have a narrow foot I think you are probably best to size down in the Crocs. If you have a normal to wide foot you should probably size up in the Crocs. This has worked for me with all the styles of Crocs that I have tried (Niles, Beach, Cayman, and Athens)

I wore nothing but Crocs for 8 days at WDW. No blisters at all. It was a little cool so a lot of times I wore them w/ socks. But you can definitely wear them w/ or w/o socks! I wear mine almost every day to work, and my feet have NEVER been happier! :)

As for sizing, that is sometimes tricky. Since they became really popular last year, the sizes have changed a bit. I wear a size 9, and I think I wear the mediums in the Beach model. Like the other poster, really try to put them on in person first. Also, if they feel a little big on you, DON'T go to a smaller size. They are supposed to be roomy. And that heel strap that doesn't look like it will stay on your heel WILL stay on your heel. It still amazes me how these shoes stay on your feet even w/o the strap, which is how I wear mine most of the time.

The other great thing about these shoes is that you can bring a bunch of them because they weigh next to nothing (of course, you still have to have the space in your suitcase for them)!

What are Crocs? :confused3

And why is everyone wearing them to Disney? :scratchin

I feel like I'm missing out on something that I didn't even know I should do!

Thanks for all the responses!! I think I will try to find a store that carries them & try them on first before ordering online. :sunny:

I finally got to try on the Athens (flip flops) Saturday. They are fantastic. I normally wear a 9 - 9 1/2 women's but for these bad boys an 8 was perfect. They were also the same price online as in my local store. I'm going to give them a try on our May trip. I have the Wal-Mart knock offs right now that I wear all the time.

My DD17 (who always swims against the grain) swears they are the ugliest things she's ever seen, and she doesn't care how comfortable they are she won't get within 10 feet of them. :rotfl2: :lmao:

They are footwear and they feel wonderful on your feet.. Alot of times when you go to WDW you are on your feet for hours on end and they hurt and ache so bad but with crocs they dont..

I bought a size 8 in both the niles and Athens and I normally wear an 7 1/2. My girls have the caymen and they love them and wear them almost daily. They call them their squishy shoes.

All crocs all daty for fifteen days at WDW in July. All crocs all day at work and I am on my fet for hours at a time.

In June, I packed my sneakers, sport sandals, and my Crocs. Never wore the sport sandals, switched off day and night with the sneakers and Crocs. Found I liked the Crocs best...so when I went in August with just my dd, I brought only my Crocs and sneakers. But, wore only the Crocs. So...in Nov/Dec brought only the Crocs. My feet were very happy.
I normally wear a 9. In those styles that are S, M, L, I am happy with a M, in those that offer actual sizing, it's a 9 for me. I found that I haven't had to 'break them in' at all. And no, they don't melt on the hot pavement. Believe me...if mine didn't melt in June and August, no ones are going to melt....well, unless you stick 'em in the dryer for 30 minutes!!

I ordered crocs for my daughter in MEDIUM (8/9), I tried them on (I am a size 9) & they seemed just a little too small. I am going to order a LARGE, hoping that they aren't huge!! I cannot believe how light they actually are. :thumbsup2

Wow, I guess I'm just the odd one. When I picked up muy imitation Crocs at Payless, just to try them out, I had to go two full sizes smaller than usual. It's terrible, but I'm wearing a kid's size 3 1/2 - 4. Boy do my feet feel small.

I was curious about this myself as I want to pack extremely light, but I am afraid to go without my tennis shoes - they are just so clunky, I don't want to even bother with them!

I wear my Crocs all day, I never take them off, but I am not exactly walking miles and miles in them ...

I wear a 9 and bought the large Beach style. They are big but my feet do not touch any side of the shoe and I never wear the strap.

DS wants a bouncy ... :goofy:

and .. DD ... :donald:
