Crocs for free!-Almost!

Well it seems that the only reason you got them for so cheap was because you got a $30 credit for having the Amazon.com Visa. This might be worth it if someone was interested in signing up for another credit card, but I think I'd rather spend the full price for a pair of Crocs than sign up for a credit card.

For me, it's not worth applying for another credit card to get $30 off. It's a hassle trying to get rid of the extra cards.

I got my knock-offs at the Berkshire Outlet by me for $5 - this is not a great bargain if I have to sign up for another credit card. They didn't really only cost you $8 - you had to use your $30 credit.

THanks for sharing the info.... maybe I will wait until they come out with the Disney crocs this fall!....................P

Wow, so many people out there who don't use credit cards! Not even the Disney Visa, I guess. :confused3 Just thought I'd share how I only paid $8 for my Crocs. This will be the only time I use the card as I use my Disney Visa for all my other charges and I pay it off every month.

FYI-if you don't have any credit cards, your credit score will be less than if you do, and use it responsibly. Makes it harder to buy a house or a car.

There's nothing wrong with saving and paying cash for stuff though. We do own a house, we have had credit cards in the past. We assume to just pay cash, why add more debt if you don't have to? As far as vehicles, I just bought an suv and paid cash. I feel much better knowing I outright own something rather than putting it all on plastic or paying finance charges.

Nothing wrong with using credit cards and using them responsibly will help your credit but every application you complete will hurt your score so it is best to only apply for cards you'll use or the incentive is worth the credit hit. Saving $30 wouldn't be worth the application hit for me.

Only one person here said she doesn't use a credit card, so it's not a "so many people" situation. But for many people, it's not worth applying for yet another credit card just to have a $30 credit. As Janette said, every credit card application you fill out can hurt your credit score (contrary to the belief where people think it won't do a thing...the fact is that they make credit inquiries and that can hurt your score). If you apply and are denied, that can hurt your score even more. It's simply better and wise to fill out applications only for those that you know you will be using responsibly. Sorry, but I just don't think that applying for a credit card just for $30 is responsible credit handling. Perhaps it is for you, but for me, it's not worth it. Most people would rather just pay the $30 extra dollars than open a new credit card account. I'm glad you found the deal to be great...but for most people, it's not really a deal.
