Someone posted on this board a couple of weeks ago with a photo of Dubya wearing Crocs with socks (that bore the presidential seal  ).

Today the Washington Post has a story about it on the front page of the Style section. In the same article there is discussion of several new styles of Crocs that are coming out beginning in August, including boots. According to the article, the shoes/boots are made of material besides resin, but the soles are still the comfy soles we Croc wearers have come to love.

According to the Crocs website, "The 9 additional models in the Crocs Fall 2007 line-up include:
 The Axle and Kids Axle, a camouflage-patterned rugged outdoor shoe for men, women and kids
 The Hi Cruiser for men, a high-top suede shoe with a Croslite foot bed
 The Celeste Suede and Celeste Canvas for women, a fashionable casual shoe featuring suede or canvas uppers and Croslite foot beds
 The Troika for women, a new option for increased protection from the snow and slush
 The Kids All Terrain, the popular outdoor model now available in children’s sizes with an easy hook and loop leather fastener
 The Girls Alice, features the same fashion-forward design in girls sizes

Retail introductions of new Fall 2007 shoe models will begin in August and continue through October 2007."

Here's a link to the story http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/06/21/AR2007062102403.html?sub=AR, and here is a photo of the new lines of Crocs.

Thanks for the link--interesting.

I'm not a huge Croc fan but I have to say, I really DISLIKE the Post's fashion writer, Robin Givhan. She is always so condescending in EVERYTHING she writes. Maybe she's trying to be funny. I guess I agree with her but I just hate her attitude. Like when she went on about the American Indian Museum's historic Indian dresses as being "boring."

Looks like some nice styles.

Today I am wearing my Sassari's which are the wedge style that came out for the spring/summer and I love them. I do wear Crocs pretty much all the time anyway, but if the new styles are just as comfy and sleaker styles, I'll be very happy that I can wear them to work with many more outfits.

I agree, I didn't care much for her write-up at all, and I AM a Crocs fan.

I want a pair of those (so I can wear them to work). How is the sizing?

OMG! I saw that exhibit and they were beautiful! I took pictures of a lot of them. I especially loved the "life cycle" display with the maternity dress, cradleboards, and toddler outfits.:goodvibes

I wear an 8 1/2 or a 9 in most everything and I got the Sassari in a 9 and they are perfect. I have the black/white. I'm thinking about getting the sea foam/white and/or the fuschia/white.

I wish the heel wasn't so high on the "dressy" shoe. I would get a lower heel version for my wedding. :)

I'd have to see them in person but I'm still not sure I'd wear them.

The company has a new line of footwear: You by Crocs. The first collection, called High Spirits, will be in stores for fall. Priced from $149 to $299, the shoes and boots will have leather and suede bodies, but their platform and wedge heels will be made of Crocs's signature resin.

Hmmm.....I think they just look OK. I'm not sure that I'd pay that much for them.
