I love my crocs but have found a nasty down side to them. If you wear them on carpet you will generate a bunch of static electricity. Found this out the hard way, touch somthing metal and ZAP!!:scared1: .Happens with both my regular and woolies. I may just have to start draging a grounding strap off my backside :rotfl:

Yep.... or the dreaded croc stop! I've nearly busted my face that way a bajillion times...

Thanks for the info!

I've been going around trying to zap hubby with half-satisfactory results. Maybe with my crocs, I can get him good. :rotfl2:

This is why I wear my Birkenstock Professional or sometimes my Dansko shoes in winter that are anti-static. lol

My Merrels do the exact same thing. I thought it was just my crocs. Just a little unpleasantness to go along with comfy feet.

I've noticed the static, too. But it also happens in the summer...especially at the grocery store. :confused3

And forget trying to close the car door! I *always* get zapped!! :lmao:

And I've also had the pleasure of tripping over nothing. :rolleyes1

I've made an nice arc once or twice while wearing my Crocs!! Poor dh turned on the kitchen light last night and bam....should have heard the yelp out of him. I love my Crocs but think I may have to put them away during the winter. It's just too darn painful.
My dad used to carry a coin in his pocket during the winter. Whenever he was going to touch something metal, he would touch it with the coin first..says it helped a lot. But, I'm thinking I can't be bothered carryin a coin around and then touching everything with it first!

And I've also had the pleasure of tripping over nothing. :rolleyes1

Witnessed this one last night in the ER. A nurse wearing crocs just flew forward over her feet sending her into a semi-run before regaining her composure. DH turned to me and said what did she trip over? Um..her crocs..

Also dont attempt to go down any small half mudd slopes you might have in your yard as your crocs might slide and throw you onto your knees causing your handful of library books to go flying through the air and your neighbors to gawk at you like your smoking crack....:rolleyes1

I have the static problem too. I started spraying them with Static Guard, and that did the trick. :thumbsup2

As far as the "Croc stop", I don't think there's a remedy for that...you just have to hope nobody was looking. :lmao:
