Crocs & Blisters?

I wore my crocs with socks in Jan. and didn't have a problem. On our Jun trip, I got the blister where the strap pivots. I wear my crocs all the time at home and never have had a problem, so I think its just the amount of walking at WDW that caused a problem for me. I do have wide feet, but my crocs are loose (which is why I love them!). I'm going to try putting moleskin on the croc instead of my foot next time I'm in Disney.

I have the croc athens (flipflops) and the niles (open toed) and the last time we went we were there for 12 days, 10 days of tickets. I typically get blisters just thinking about how much walking and I only got one blister on each foot by then end of the trip. The athens are definately more comfortable. They are easy to slip on and off. The niles seemed to get more dirt/leaves/mulch stuff in them. The nile were great for Blizzard Beach. My favorites by far are the flip flop crocs. I wear them everyday when I am not working. I haven't tried the traditional crocks yet.

My two sons wore their mickey crocs everyday all day and no blisters. Last year we tried knock offs for them from payless. My youngest got a blister within 2 hours. The real ones are worth any price.

can you tell me what discounts you used? I want to get my kids a pair.

I have 2 pair one reg. and one the flip flop style, DS has his reg. pair and his mickey ones and DH has a pair........... none of us have ever gotten a blister!!

I will say though............ make sure you get the right size!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

A word of CAUTION -- DO NOT get them to "fit" on your foot like a regular shoe - they are NOT suppose to be snug or fit right like a tennis shoe. They are suppose to be "big" on your foot. My Sis made that mistake when she bought hers, she tried on her size and thought they were too big........... so, she got a pair that "fit" her foot......... it was a mistake, she did get blisters. The next day she bought another pair that were her size and LOVED them!!! She said she didn't care if they looked like "boats" they felt awesome and didn't bother her blister!!!!

I dunno. I have serveral pairs of them and they are not huge, I hate how they look on me too big so I buy the ones that fit. I wear the black ones to work (waitressing) and I wore some others around my college campus. I wore them to six flags and Story Land which is a kid amusement park. I haven't had any blistering problems.
One of these days though I am going to buy REAL Crocs. Right now I have all cheap knock offs because I hate the thought of spending 35 dollars for rubber. lol

Does anyone have any size tips for buying the Scutes style? I was thinking that maybe they shouldn't be as "roomy" as the regular Crocs are, because othewise they'd just fall off your feet!

Thanks!
Lori

I got blisters the first time I wore my crocs all day. I was walking around downtown San Antonio that day. After that, I bought some Band-Aid Blister Block and used that on my trip to WDW and did not get a blister the entire time.

There have been times since then that I have worn my crocs all day without using the Blister Block and haven't gotten any blisters, so that first day might have been due to my feet getting used to the crocs and/or having to break-in my crocs.

I love my crocs and also a very skinny person they look like army boots on my feet, especially in lime green.

The real crocs offer better cushion then the knock offs. I tried on some at target while wearing my crocs and there is a difference.

Also, I wore socks during the segway tour and I think the little bumps are good for your feet because my feet hurt with socks but not when I don't wear any.

My DD has tried my one and now she wants a pair.

I ditto on the athen style I have those and love them, my "foot tan" proves that. I have not worn crocs to WDW but plan to next year. I love them and agree with the sizing if you have average feet like me woman's size 7 in the cayman style I can wear the W7/M5 with no problem (wore all year round even in winter when pregnant) but my other styles are all a W8 need it for toe length. I have never had any blisters myself even my DH who wears them too constently has not had any. Only DD 4 had got blisters last fall at a water park because they were getting small on her (right at the pivot points) My diz kids wear them all the time and yes all our feet get dirty, but easy to clean feet and shoes, and NO stinky feet or shoes compared to traditional shoes w/socks or other flip flops good trade off.

IMHO go with the original, and if you have a beloved pair, buy new ones 1 mo out and wear them in a bit so the treads are fresh, but not spankin fresh.

& BTW in 05 I got bad blisters from a pair of Speedo flip flpos right on top of my foot, did the mole skin thing, that helped, but I thought oh my feet will be too uncomfy in flops for 10 days, so I bought new gym shoes several months out and my feet hurt way more...

GO FOR THE CROCS!!!:yay: :yay:

Do you get blisters wearing Crocs at WDW without socks?

I have never gotten a blister from my crocs. Either pair that is. They make my feet so comfy and it feels like im walking on clouds. I only have the Croc (light blue) and the Disney Croc (black with red). LOVE CROCS 100%

So, if you are ordering Crocs online, would you go for your regular shoe size, or one size up?

My MIL bought my 2 year old and 5 year old Crocs. My 5 year old has no problems. My 2 year old got real bad blisters right where the round croc symbol is on both sides of her feet. My mil asked the man where she buys the shoes. He said to either put a piece of mole skin there, or buy the little round felt sticky things. We did that, and they have been fine.

Just got back I got one blister wearing my Crocs this week.. It was pretty much a non issue blister but I did get one on my foot...

I got a blister on the top of my foot because I have high arches. I haven't tried baby oil to try to prevent. I think I'll try the Crocs flip flops.

The same thing happened to my kids. I bought my 6 yr old a pair and she had no problems. Then I bought my ds a pair he's 3 and he got blisters on both of his feet. We leave for disney in two weeks and I don't know if I should bring my son's crocs. I was thinking of putting on socks first but it's going to be so hot there. I have moleskins, should I put it on the crocs symbol or the area where he got the blister.

I'm not sure where but I found a sizing chart on the croc website. Make sure you set your printer to print full size and then you can just size yourself.

I just ordered Disney crocs form shoebuy.com and went by the size shart. I ordered a size M because I wear a size 8-8.5 shoe (my foot is wide though). I got them and they fit but fit like a glove so based on reading about Crocs here I knew that I needed a bigger size if they fit like a glove. I went to my natural food store tonight and they have the Crocs Beach style, which is the same as the Disney style ones and I tried on the Large and while they are boats, LOL, they fit and I think better since Crocs are not supposed to touch any part of your feet. So I am ordering the size L for me now.

Same thing for my dd. She is six and wears a size 11/12 kids but the size 10/11 Crocs are too snug for her (tried them on at Dick's sporting goods) so we went with the 12/13, and they are big but they do fit.

I just read the latest issue of allears newsletter and a comment was in there about tons of blisters when a woman wore Crocs. Anyone else see it yet?

My family just loaded up

We got our boys their first pair of crocs. We found them at the the local Hallmark store. We were told they are going to stop carrying them. The kids crocs were $21 and the adults were $25. Check your local Hallmark, the lady also said that the Mickey's were even cheaper on clearence.

DD had to have pink Mickeys, we found them at Dillards

The biggest selection I have found is at Dillards and Dickeys Sporting Goods.

As far as sizing. Go try them on somewhere before you buy them online. The sizing is strange. If they feel like they fit better get the next size.

I hate the look of the regular crocs but found a pair I really like the look of. Guys you might check out the Sobeks. They have a fabric lined top and look coooool. I got chocolate and Khaki. It's a man croc. I found them at Dickeys. It's a slide in with an open toe and no heel strap.

Have crocs will travel.
