Crocs, blisters & body glide, oh my!!!

If I wear my Crocs to walk a long distance without the strap around the back of my heel, I will start getting blisters. I guess from gripping the shoes with my toes. They need to fit loosely and wearing the strap in the back lets that happen.

I'm another unabashed Crocs fan (and I'm a guy). I've got 3 pair currently and I'm looking at getting a pair of Lime Green Beach's for WDW to show off my Dis-ness...

LOVE Crocs! Happy feet are beautiful feet!

I don't recommend the ones without any holes. With those, you HAVE to wear socks. Those are my autumn/winter crocs.

You don't coat the whole foot with Body Glide, just any area that rub. If you're full figured (a-hem!) you can put some on your thighs to avoid "that rash" we get. ;) Trust me on that!

I love my crocs but after a couple hours they hurt my feet. I took them to disney last year and got blisters on the ball of my foot. Hurt really bad. I'm now looking for something new for our next trip but I don't want to wear heavy sneakers. Any suggestions?

The first thought I have is with regards to sizing. I know that some people don't like the "loose fit", but they are really supposed to fit loose. I think that if you went down a size for a tighter fit, that may be why they start to irritate the ball of your feet.

The other thought I have is, how long have you had them? I go through mine pretty quick and wear out the bottom because I walk so much. It's possible that they are starting to wear out at the ball and you're not getting the same support you'd get from a new pair.

I never wear the strap at the back of my heel, and I sort of have to remind myself not to grip with my toes, and convince myself that the shoes WILL in fact stay on my feet (& they do!). I found my feet getting sore from gripping because it feels like the shoes are going to fall off, but they're really not going to!

I'm a croc fan (as are my kids) and pretty much live in them in the summer.

That said....

I got a blister on the outside of my heel after walking in them all day at Animal Kingdom. OUCH! It might be that my feet got wet at Kali...although I wasn't wearing socks. I didn't wear them at all the rest of the trip but I wear them to go here and there at home.

I found the same thing. You kind of have to do this zen thing with your feet and relax them and just go. Let the Crocs be with you. Trust in the Crocs. You're not so much walking IN the Crocs as you are walking ON the Crocs. Very different from my other footwear.

I've done two trips in these and I absolutely swear by them. They are like slippers, slide on and off easily and are great w/thin socks. We walked all of Epcot well into our trip and I wore them w/no problem.

Hi
I love my Croc Scutes. They're the most comfortable shoe I've ever worn. I wore them last summer to WDW and not one blister. I usually have blisters on both feet from other shoes. I did use body glide without socks with my Crocs. It felt funny at first, but then after a while, it felt fine. I now wear my Scutes without body glide ( I just wore them to Las Vegas) and they were great. No blisters. I just ordered a pair of the men's Crete for myself. The women's capri flip flop didn't fit me right, so I thought I'd try the men's flip flop. The post between the toe is thinner than on the Athens. I also have a pair of the Mickey Beach in pearl, and wore them in December with socks. So comfortable. Good luck with wearing Crocs, and have fun in Disney!:goodvibes

I got some crocs and I like them but I have wide feet and they are tight across the top of my foot. They fit loose everywhere else. Is there a way to stretch them so they will fit correctly across the top? I tried a bigger size and that didn't help.

My son wears them and loves them. However, he wore them sock-less to the zoo one day and got blisters. Maybe I'll do socks for him at Disney.

Yes, I had to stretch my Caymans out across the top of my foot. It was rubbing when I walked, and I knew it would be a blister spot. I stuck them in the dryer for a couple of minutes, and then put them on with some thick socks and walked around a bit. It stretched the top of the foot out immediately, and they're now perfect! Just be careful that you don't stretch them out too much. :goodvibes

Does anybody know what size would fit a children's size 4, Crocs children's only go up to 3 and adults start at Womens 6-7. Thanks!

I personally don't dare to try something new cuz if I do, I'll be sure to get blisters so bad I won't be able to walk... period.

I'll stick to my broken-in sneakers (Keds microstretch), gold toe socks and moleskin. To me, moleskin is the best thing since... sliced bread. (except sliced bread doesn't prevent blisters from forming on heels) :rotfl:

Great Idea, that should work out great.

Though most Croc wearers already know this you must pay attention whenever the floor or ground is wet. Crocs can be very slippery when in contact with a wet floor.

It's really pretty easy, just always walk at an even pace and you will be fine. Or if you find a really good wet spot you can ski for a pretty good distance with a good run up.  :scared1:

Just pay a little extra attention when walking in wet areas is all I am saying.

If you go to the Crocs site you can download a sizing chart. Just make sure you print it at 100 o/o to get the right fit

I just bought my first pair and my daughters first pair. She is a size 1 in girls and she had to get a size 4 womens. Hope this helps.

I absolutely LOVE my Croc flip flops. I wore my Athens last summer to WDW and had no problems whatsoever. This year I have bought the Capri's and have worn them for about the last month and they ROCK!

I love my Athens! And I hate regular flip flops. I may get the Capri's eventually, but for now, I'm loving the Athens. I put them on as soon as I get home every night...even though I've usually been wearing my Beach all day.

the reason this may be is because I saw a study saying that they are really better for people who do a lot of standing and not that helpful if you need them to walk all day. Not that they dont' work for some, just that they aren't the miracle shoe for walking as much as for standing.

I agree with this statement, I have several Pairs, and can't wear them, they make my Kness hurt after wearing them!:confused3
