Crocs as badshoes???

I think it is there as a picture of some "ugly" shoes. It appears to be a site making fun of the shoes people wear to WDW. It doesn't say anything about them being uncomfortable.

Agree. The photo makes them look like radioactive jelly shoes. :jester: Guess if they are comfy does not mean they are PRETTY. :jumping1:

I saw some in a store and thought they were the ugliest shoes I've ever seen. They are just rubber shoes. I don't want to take a chance with them, even though some people swear by them. I found a pair of Tevas on sale and I'm going with them!

I just ordered some because of the "what Crocs did for me" thread here. I'm not there to make a fashion statement. As long as my feetsies are not hurting, I don't care what's on them!!!

ETA: I bet in a few months, these things are going to EXPLODE like wildfire and fall into the "so-ugly-they're-cute" category and everybody is going to be wearing them!! That'll be about the time we're at WDW so maybe I will be making a fashion statement afterall!~!!!! :rotfl:

I think they are ugly. I can't imagine walking around in rubber shoes in the heat and my feet sweating and sticking to the shoes! I have plantars also but I got custom made insoles to go in my tennis shoes and they work wonderfully.

I've been seriously debating these shoes too. However it does say on the crocs website that they are not rubber or plastic but resin ???????? which I thought was a form of plastic? But I'll have to defer to my scientist geek husband on that one. :)

Then I read on the other thread that someone recieved theirs and they were more like foam? Still I'm very confused? I live in Canada and there are no dealers here. I have to order off the website and would just really like to try them on before a purchase but I might just have to "take a chance" on these puppies for comfort purposes.

I also think that since I've looked at them a zillion times in the last week or so that they are growing on me. How funny is that? I really can't stand pink but since it's become the "new black" or whatever lately :rotfl: I find myself strangely drawn to the pink colour and "weird" style. I am however thinking of the "Niles" style for the more "sandal" look and feel.

I can't believe I've put this much thought and energy into a pair of really outrageous looking shoes but all in the name of Disney I might add

Since I've started coming to the DIS site and planning my first trip to WDW I've considered purchasing Crocs shoes AND a fanny pack. I'm going to need some serious fashion counseling once this trip is over...... :grouphug:

They are not a jelly or rubber or even feel plastic at all. I went to a department store today that sells them to check them out. They do indeed feel like a foam type material. I tried a pair on and they were VERY comfortable. Unfortunately they didn't have the style I wanted.

I speak from experience. These shoes have been the fad here for the past 8 months. I thought how ugly they were at first. Then, more and more people started wearing them -- adults -- not just kids. Doctors, nurses, dentists, all kinds of professionals started wearing them, so I caved and thought they must be sort of comfortable for all these people to be wearing them. Tried them, now I have 3 pairs !!

I just got my Crocs -- ordered them from the comany directly. When I put them on my feet, I feel pretty good ................UNTIL I look down. My feet really do look like they have crocodile heads on them, lol.

BTW i followed the link posted above to that site. Those people look pretty ok in their Crocs, IMO. Well, maybe the green pair looks a little odd. :rotfl:

I bought the pink ones today and I love them. I found a dealer here in town and went to try them on. I normally wear a 10, but bought the mediums which are a women's 8-9. The store owner said that they do stretch a bit. My toe touched the end a little and he recommend that I go with the smaller size rather than the bigger do to the stretching. He said something about putting a piece of wood in the end with a hair dryer to get them to stretch. Weird! They seem to be getting a little bigger though. They are very comfy!!

YES, this website is making fun of the CROCs....But I tell you, maybe they aren't up on what is cool. These shoes are all the rage right now and not only are they orthepedically great...they are just cool looking--different and you know here in Boulder we are all about starting trends and looking "different" (well, some of us)

Gee, it's "all the rage" here to wear big, baggy jeans down below your butt-crack, with your boxers showing - doesn't mean that it's all that great a way to dress. I tend to think it's extremely stupid, actually. So, I'm not impressed about people being 'hip' by wearing really ugly, crappy looking shoes. It's fine if you like them, but don't think everyone's impressed... :cool1:

My mom bought a pair of those. I don't like them, personally. I saw them on our last vacation, and I didn't like them at all, but everyone else is raving about them, so i don't know...

Yep, I just got a pair and they are very comfortable. I don't care if they are a fad or not, Sparx can tell you that I am a dork to the spinal column and all I am worried about is comfort. I'm trying to see if there is a way that I can get away with wearing them to court (I am a legal advocate)! I think I have some slacks that are baggy enough that no one will be able to see them LOL!

I know exactly what you mean :goodvibes ! At first, I thought "No Way" , but after reading all the comments about how comfortable they are, I started looking at pictures on their website, and, well...they are growing on me, too :teeth: ! I think (at least among my circle of friends) people realize they are supposed to be fun and funky. But, I agree-they are not for everybody!
I think you have to be a little bit brave to wear them :rotfl:

PINK is my fav, too. My DD would love them - they would be a good Easter gift!

LOL!!! Well, maybe if you tried them on you would certainly know that it has nothing at all to do with "being hip". And further more at 41 and a mother of twins I would say that I have much more important things to think about these days....I couldn't help laugh at your post!! Maybe the kids think they are cool by wearing them, but me, good grief...these are like cool orthepedic shoes that cost less and nothing more. And for once, that is a welcome relief!
If you don't want to wear them becuase they are ugly...NO Problem!!

They are ugly :) but comfy. I'm a convert that's for sure!! Bought a pair last weekend. They are the pinks ones. I will look really bad since they won't match many of my Disney clothes!
