Crocs--Anyone NOT like them at WDW for walking??

Aside from looks, did anyone wear crocs at Disney and wish they had not? Anyone ever wear crocs and have your feet hurt at night and switch to athletic shoes?

I am debating whether to try crocs for our first trip to WDW or just buy some good athletic shoes. Any insight and experience with both would be great!!! I tend to get sore feet after walking alot. I have had the problem since college when I would waitress double shifts. I don't want to end up with sore feet after one day of walking at MK.

I wore tennis shoes last year, end of September and my feet not only hurt but were wet a couple hours into the day from the humidity. I had to take a large suitcase full of shoes for the 3 of us so that we weren't walking around in damp shoes. Recently I bought a pair of Crocs-Beaches. They are great. I am a nurse and on my feet for 12-13 hours per shift and normally wear $140.00 Berkenstocks, the Crocs are the only other shoe I have found that give the support needed to work in without foot or ankle pain at the end of the day.

They may not be pretty but they're great!

my grand daughter wants a pair after reading the boards so much about them, I am confused are you guys taking about some little flip flop type shoes or the ones that cover the toes and have a strap on them I was thinking the flip flops would come off if she was riding a ride where her feet hung. whick are more comfortable?

I bought a pair a week ago and have found them very comfy for my everyday errands, etc. I wore them today to an outside festival and it was warm enough that my feet were sweating and felt like they were sticking to the crocs. I'm not too sure I'm crazy about that. I can see how they would be great when that mid-afternoon downpour occurs at WDW. I will definately bring my crocs when we go NEXT month. But I'll bring other shoes too, just in case.

Crocs are great, I have the caymens and I love them. They'll definitely go to Disney with me, but so will my athletic shoes. Don't skimp on the shoes when packing - take several pairs for everyone. We always find little things that we didn't expect, like a pair of shoes we've been wearing for months suddenly rubs a blister , or your shoes get wet, etc.

53 days, 16 hours and 52 minutes til we're back at Fort Wilderness and Star Wars Weekend.

I Crocs! They are the ONLY shoes that at the end of a 13 hour day, my feet do not hurt! It helps to buy the more subtle colors if you don't exactly like the "look" of them.

All my kids have crocs and say they are very comfortable, but my DS14 has very sweaty feet and if he doesn't wear socks with the crocs, they make noise which he doesn't like.

Too funny!! I was just going to ask if they make any weird noises when your feet are sweaty. Does it make squishy noises or sqeeky noises or.....God forbid....the farting noises? These are the silly things I need to know BEFORE buying a pair. (If its the farty noises I will have to walk close to DH so I can blame it on him )

to me.. I can't stand them.. but I have never tried them... I need to get with the style I guess.. I just don't like the look of them.. but I am just a plain Jane girl... they look cute on others just not on me..

I bought a pair of the Nile Crocs a few weeks ago (DIS lime green of course!) and have worn them to school several times, where I end up walking at least 2 miles a day. I haven't had any problems with blisters, which is nice, since ALL of my shoes end up hurting after a day on campus. My only complaint is that my feet do tend to feel a bit "sweaty" in them, but never wet, and never smelly which can happen in many other "flip-flop" type shoes.

They are by far the comfiest, lightest shoes I have ever worn. I will be buying them for Mother's day, as DM has chronic foot pain and will love Crocs...

Hardest part will be deciding on a color!!

Has anyone tried the flip flop style (sorry, cant remember the name!) ? How well do those work? I think the flip flops are the only ones I can bring myself to wear - I'm really fashion consious.

I brought my Nile sandals for our trip last May and realized quickly that with all the walking for some reason the shoes made my toes/side of my feet go to sleep (go numb). It was VERY painful!

I quickly switched back to my Tevas! I have a pair of the "pretty rugged" style that I've had for years and they're great. You can wear them in the rain/water rides and they dry very quickly. I highly suggest looking at a pair but most of all bring some shoes that you KNOW are comfortable (not new shoes).

I have been wearing Tevas for years.When we first got married my husband hated them called them the ugly American sandals. Then he borrowed mine ( I think I had a mens style). He now has 2 pairs of his own and has gotten his cousin turned on to them.I wore my Tevas in December to Disney in the freeing cold with a pair of socks. They were great!

I wore a pair of Dr. Scholls athletic shoes for our family trip last Thanksgiving. The shoes have air insoles and arch supports; this is a very comfortable shoe.


Going back again in November.

I love my Crocs, with socks.

Wear the no-show sport socks, just don't like the sweaty feeling I get.

The Nile sandals (no socks LOL - I have my limits), hurt the bottoms of my feet after wearing them for a while/lots of walking. Never did get used to them (?)

For our last trip to WDW I bought Crocs for the whole family. It took awhile for my husband and daughter to be convinced, but I won them over by the third day. All agree that Crocs are the most comfortable shoes ever.

As for sweaty feet, try spray antiperspirant. I really made a difference.

I tried on the Athens last week (after hearing about them so much here I had to see what they were like!) and the toe thong really bothered my foot. I found it very thick and hard. The soles were very cushioned and comfy but I worried about the toe thong so I passed. The traditional style ones were more comfy but I didn't find the soles as nice as the Athens. The woman who worked there said she has them and loves them-wears 'em everywhere. I didn't buy any. I have a pair of very comfortable walking sandals already and some very comfy Adidas athletic shoes. I'm going to take those instead. I'll be one of the ones un-croced at Disney.

I bought a pair of Beaches from Zappos last summer and loved them. They were super comfortable and I could walk for miles in them. Later that summer, I spotted them in my school bookstore and bought two more pairs, one for me and one for my Mom. My second pair was just never as comfortable. They were great for limited wear, but not for a lot of walking. My feet got tired and my back was always sore. I don't know if it was just a bad batch or what, but I'm unwilling to take the chance and buy another pair. The pair I bought for my Mom at the same time is seen as a Godsend and she wears them constantly. Go figure!

I brought one pair with me on my last WDW trip, but I only wore them for slacking around the resort and for actual travel (they're perfect for airline security!). I wore my New Balance or my Tevas the rest of the time. I decided to stick with my tried and true!

Okay, I seem to be one of the few who thinks Crocs are adorable. I finally tried on a pair several days ago and loved the feel of them(the Beach style). i haven't bought any yet, as they didn't have any good colors left...they were very picked thru. As far as wearing them at WDW, I rarely wear the same shoes two days in a row. I take flip flops(several pair) and tennis shoes. This year I'll have at least one pair of Crocs with me also. It seems no matter what any of us wear(and DH doesn't think Crocs are ugly either, BTW) we all end up with sore feet and a blister somewhere. We just switch out our shoes and/or use anti-perspirant on them to cut down on the blisters. I'd also love to hear others experiences with the Crocs at WDW.
