Per this web-site- airline footwear rules...shoes (no gel shoe inserts allowed!) to have them X-rayed. Wear loafers or flats that are easy to remove.

Are Crocs considered gel shoes, since they are made out of plastic ?

Thanks !

When they say no gel inserts, they are talking about the sole inserts filled with liquified gel (you know, the ads that say "you must be gellin'". Crocs should be fine.

I wore my Crocs on a flight last month. In fact, I'll be wearing them again next month for our Disney trip. They are very easy to get off and on at the x-ray machine - nothing to tie, buckle, etc. Crocs do not have gel in them at all so there are "legal." If you have gel inserts in your shoes (i.e. the Dr. Scholl inserts you buy and put in your sneakers), you have to put them in your checked bag. They're not allowed through security.

Crocs should be banned on flight, or really anywhere else in public.

While I agree, the TSA has yet to ban bad taste. :cool1:

Was this a joke question? :confused3

With all of the ridiculous "security" measures in place for air travel now, you'd be surprised the kind of questions people have to legitimately ask. I'm tempted to ask if I'm allowed to breathe, or should I just hold my breath for the two hour flight to Florida.

I'd rather people ask than just assume and hold me up in the security line! :thumbsup2

Now figure out this...

Gel inserts in your shoes BANNED

Gel inserts in your bra ALLOWED

TSA Logic NONEXISTENT!

Ain't that the truth! I'm still not understanding why gel filled "Wonderbras" that are used exclusively for vanity purposes are allowed yet prescribed orthpedic inserts needed for medical purposes are banned. Must be a not well endowed woman with good feet making that rule...

Because they figure that the level of intrusiveness involved in confiscating someone's bra is excessive and will be treated as such by the press and public.

Doesn't make much sense from a security standpoint though.

If they start to ban bras and they need checkers I may have to rethink my career goals :lmao:
