Crocs- a few questions

I've never heard of "Crocs" footwear before I read this board, but am encouraged by the number of people who rate their comfortability, so much so that I am thinking of buying a pair for when we go to Florida in November

I have decided that I like the look of the Crocs Athens, in pearl/turqoise, but have a couple of questions if people don't mind:

Are the athens shoes made of rubber
Can they be bought anywhere on the high street, would really like to try a paid on before I buy them, I'm ultra fussy
Anyone recommend an internet site to purchase from if no high street shop sells them.

I am usually a size 4 in UK, 37 continental, do the shoes come up big, small or just right?

Im sorry, I cant answer all your questions, but the larger branches of Milletts sell them. They are the same price there as they are on the crocs site.

I bought mine from this site. I believe there are a few other sites too.
However if you wait until you go to Orlando you can buy them there. There was a good range in 'Quiet Flight', a shop in City Walk. They were $29.99 there.

I found my Crocs Athens fantastic. I basically wore nothing else for two weeks, well, the whole summer in fact!

I bought from Jelly Egg, and found mine a little on the large size, although not at all floppy, or too big. Lots more shops sell them now, think they were spotted in Sports Soccer or something similar recently, check the uk community forum for the exact place.

I really like my Crocs Athens ~ It did take me a couple of days wearing them to get used to the rubber divider thingy but after that they were great. I also love the Scute ones as well, no rubber thingy and sooooo comfortable. I bought mine from Jelly Egg as well. I bought the shoes in the correct size for me and they fit just fine.

If you don't want to buy them online and can't find a high streeet supplier. There is a shop in the Premium Outlet Mall that stocks them.

I bought a pair of 'Athens' from Dillards, in the Florida Mall, $29.99 at Easter and then another pair from http://www.sweetfeetshoes.co.uk/ at £24.99 when we got home

I can honestly say that they're the only things I've had on my feet all summer as they're so comfy

The toe divider 'squishes' up after a couple of days wear (DD found them a little difficult to wear for a day or two as she's not used to toe posts).

Only thing I will say is that they 'squelsh' if you get caught in the rain and can be quite slippy on wet/damp tilesd surfaces

A friend told me that John Lewis has crocs so you might like to look there.

I got a Sketchers version from Barratts in the sale at £7 a pair and am still wearing them now, in fact I'm considering wearing them with brightly coloured socks when the weather gets colder

'Clinkards' and 'John Lewis', in sheffield, both have the clog version but, to my knowledge, no-one in the UK carries the Athens flip flops to try out yet

I love the flip flops but didn't feel too comfortable with the 'clogs' when I tried them on

If you go to crocs.com I think there is a list of UK suppliers - I saw the clogs ones in Soletrader in Bristol yesterday and a few independent stores have them too.
I have the airwalk version of the clogs that come from payless in the US and I LOVE them - I'm planning to stock up on lots of different colours.

Apparently there is a crocs shop in MCO airport if you happen to be flying into there. If I were you I'd wait... you can pay £30 here or $30 there. And the Airwalk versions from payless are just $15.

I have a pair of crocs clogs and I can honestl say they are probably the most comfortable pair of shoes I have ever worn. I'm a UK 7 US 9 and the fit me perfectly. They mould to the shape of your feet. Crocs own web site is good as you get so much choice alth if you can wait to you go as they are half the price. I've just come back from Boston and they were everywhere.

Apparently there is a crocs shop in MCO airport if you happen to be flying into there.

There is but I nipped in on our way home at Easter and they had very little stock - absolutely nothing, in any styles, to fit me (UK size 7) - so don't leave it until the way back, just in case

Yeah ditto to that Alison - we checked on our way out too and the stock level was rubbish for our size. Luckily I had already purchased 3 pairs in Dillards before we left. I love them and wore them all round the parks but I also wear my Birks too, also very comfortable and I never get tired feet at the end of the day.

I'm going to get some clogs when I visit in October so I'm all prepared for my December trip as I think they would be more suitable to wear with Jeans on those December chilly or rainy days

Bought my crocs yesterday in Bluewater from a stall; also saw them in Jones Bootmakers. Worth trying to find a retailer so you can try them on. Look up what size to get etc as this is helpful. Enjoy wearing them.

Just a little warning: I bought Crocs Athens for my trip in August and while they were comfy for a while, by the end of the first day I had huge blisters where the toe divider had been and because I didn't want to take time off from my holiday i was basically crippled by 1pm every day after that, even though i only wore trainers after that day. i was going through a serious amount of blister treatments to try and keep going.
Now this may have been my fault for not walking them in properly before I went but i still don't think i deserved blisters like that. To redeem themselves though I have been wearing the Crocs beach all summer and to theme parks and not one problem. So my suggestion is go and try them on, if you like them, then wear nothing else for 2 weeks before you go to really wear them in first.

I've had a look on a couple of websites that sell them, and the stock seems to be an issue - many of the websites do not have a UK size 4 - all sold out and not known when expecting any back in.

I have to admit, I have never heard of them before this website, and haven't noticed them at all! Will try and find a UK stockists, using whats been suggested so I can try them on first.

in milton keynes, John lewis apparently sell Crocs.. (never seen them there, but I am told) but they wont have the athens..
Clinkards at the other end of the shopping centre (midsummer place) end.. has them but again not athens..
and Blue Salamander in the Xscape building also does the clog versions.

If i remember correctly they are selling these at office, the store is currently doing an offer on everything which is buy one get one half price. Might be worth looking at.

just another vote for Office...I saw them in the two Manchester stores and they stocked the 'Athens' style croc...they had limited sizes though
I want a pair so will probably get them online...good luck hope you find some soon.

I wear the beach style, and flip the ankle bar over so they are more like clogs, wore them all the time when at WDW without getting aching feet.
