Does anyone have a recipe for chocolate cake thats made in a crockpot and served warm?? I'm having a party saturday and would love to serve it. Thank you.

I have made this one for a party and it turned out really good. I served it with ice cream.

Crockpot Chocolate Mess
1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
1 3-oz. pkg. instant chocolate pudding mix
4 eggs
1 cup water
2 cups sour cream
3/4 cup oil
1 6-oz. bag chocolate chips

Spray a 4 quart crockpot with non-stick cooking spray and set aside. In a large bowl, combine the cake mix and pudding mix. In a medium bowl, beat the eggs with the water, then add the sour cream and oil and beat until smooth. Add to the dry ingredients and beat well. Stir in the chocolate chips.

Pour into crockpot. Cover slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours, until top springs back when touched very lightly with finger. 8-10 servings

Wow! I bet your home smells like heaven all day long! How do you keep from craving chocolate until its done?

I will have to try this one this weekend...

1 box (18oz) devil's food cake mix
4 eggs
1 cup sour cream
3/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup water
1 package (3 oz) instant chocolate puddling
1 cup chocolate chips

Combine all ingredients BY HAND in a 2 quart mixing bowl (do not use a mixer). Pour batter into greased 3 1/2 to 5 quart crock pot. Cover and cook on low heat 5-6 hours or until done in the center. Makes 8-10 servings.

***Do not cook on high!

Ok, those both sound really yummy! Have printed them out to try sometime (probably soon!)

Deb

Thanks for posting the recipes. They sound good. I have never cooked a cake in a crockpot before, but I want to try these.

Ohhh, those sound good! I'm copying them to try. Thanks.

Thanks so much , they both sound awesome. I'll have some happy guests saturday!!;)

Anyone have a non-chocolate crockpot cake recipe?

I've got the following:

Cakes
Carrot Cake
Lemon Custard Cake
Pineapple Upside-Down Cake
Peanut Butter And Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

Cobblers
Apple Peanut Crumble
Cherry Delight or Cherry Jubilee
Yummy Peaches

Let me know what you are inrterested in and I'll post... They are all fairly short and easy.

I'd be interested in all of them, if it's not too much trouble. My oven is on the blink and baking sounds heavenly. ;)

Sure - not a problem - i'll split the list up and do a bit at a time.

Carrot Cake
1 1/2 cups flour
3/4 cup cugar
2 large eggs
1/4 water
1/3 cup vegetable oil
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1 cup grated carrots

Combine all ingredients in a 2 qt mixing bowl by hand. Spread batter in greased 2 - 3 1/2 qt crock pot. Cover and cook on low for 2 hrs or until firm in the center.

Top with whipped cream or favorite cream cheese frosting.

Makes 4-6 servings.

Lemon Custard Cake
Batter :
1 package (13.9 oz) lemon poppy seed quick bread mix
1 egg
1 cup light sour cream
1/2 cup water

Sauce:
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
3/4 cup water
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

Mix batter ingredients by hand in a 2 qt mixing bowl. Pour batter in greased 3 1/2 - 4 qt slow cooker. Mix sauce ingredients together in separate bowl. Pour sauce evenly over batter. DO NOT STIR after sauce has been added. Cover and cook on high 2 - 2 1/2 hr. Allow cake to cool 30 minutes before serving.

Makes 6-8 Servings.

Cherry Jubilee
2 cans (21 oz each) cherry pie filling
1 package (18 oz) yellow cake mix
1/2 cup melted butter or margarine

Spread pie filling in the bottom of a greased 4 1/2 to 6 qt slow cooker. Sprinkle dry cake mix powder over the top. Pour melted butter over the top. Cover and cook on high for 2 hrs or on low 4 hrs.

Makes 10-12 servings.

Cherry Delight
21 oz can of cherry pie filling
1 pkg yellow cake mix
1/2 cup butter, melted
1/3 cup walnuts (optional)

Place pie filling in greased crock pot.
Combine dry cake mix and butter (will be crumbly). Sprinkle over filing. Sprinkle with walnuts (if used).
Cover and cook on low 4 hrs or high 2 hrs.

Note: For less rich, less sweet dessert, use only 1/2 of cake mix and only 1/4 cup of butter, melted.

Yummy Peaches
1/3 cup buttermilk baking mix
2/3 cup dry quick oats
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
4 cups of sliced peaches (canned or fresh)
1/2 cup of peach juice or water

Mix together baking mix, oats, brown sugar and cinnamon in a greased slow cooker.
Stir in peaches and peach juice/water.
Cook on low for at least 5 hours (if you like drier cobbler remove lid for the last 15-30 minutes of cooking)

**Works well with apples and apple juice instead of peaches.

The munchkin is up and wants attention. Time to be a Mommy!
Enjoy!
