I filled our crock pot last night with a couple of large roasts, spices, and juice and expected to wake up to cooked beef ready to shred. I was making italian beef for a gathering for lunch. Anyway, when I awoke this morning the crock pot and its contents were warm, the outside was hot to the touch, but the beef was still mostly uncooked and bloody so I guess the crock pot has bit the dust. Is this still good if I throw it in the oven now and cook for several hours on low or do I need to chuck the whole thing? This is kind of a budget board question because it was $30 worth of meat and I hate to just throw that away. However, I also don't want to give anyone food poisoning. I could go to plan B and just go buy italian beef from a restaurant or something. Any food safety people out there?
