If anyone has ever done this toss us some simple ideas. We have a couple things in mind, but will be in a studio so no stove. Any suggestions would be great!!

Here's one of our favorites:

1 pkg Au Jus seasoning
Chuck roast
1 small onion
1/4 t seasoned pepper
1/2 c water or white wine

Slice onion and place in the bottom of the crock pot. Add the roast. In a small bowl mix the Au Jus, pepper and water or wine. Pour over roast. Cook on low for 10-12 hrs.

This is yummy and makes a great gravy--you could even buy those Ore-Ida frozen mashed potatoes to have with it or serve it on hoagie rolls as sandwiches!

If it wasn't for my crock pot we would eat out the majority of the time!

Cheesey Crockpot Chicken

6 chicken breasts (boneless & skinless)
salt & pepper to taste
garlic powder, to taste
2 cans cream of chicken soup
1 can cheddar cheese soup

Rinse chicken and sprinkle with salt, pepper and garlic powder. Mix undiluted soup and pour over chicken in the crock pot. Cook on low 6 to 8 hours. Serve over rice or noodles.

How about Chili -- serve it with bread. Then have leftovers with baked potatoes (cooked in microwave).

Never thought we would be cooking at WDW but DVC makes it a lot more convienient. Lots of good lookin recipes so far!!

My favorite crockpot recipe website is:
http://southernfood.about.com/library/crock/blcpidx.htm

Favorite Recipe:

Creamy Italian Chicken
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix
1/4 cup water
1 package (8 ozs.) cream cheese, softened
1 can (10 3/4 ozs.) condensed cream of chicken soup, undiluted and not Low FAT
1 can (4 ozs.) mushroom stems and pieces, drained
Hot cooked rice or noodles
Place the chicken in a slow cooker. Combine salad dressing mix and water; pour over chicken. Cover and cook on low for 3 hours. In a small mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and soup until blended. Stir in mushrooms. Pour over chicken. Cook 1 hour longer or until chicken juices run clear. Serve over rice or noodles.
Serves 4.

Kweaver beat me to the creamy chicken recipe! I had this cooking for lunch 2 months ago when a friend dropped by. Her 3-year-old decided they should stay and have some(it smells that good!) My friend's other 3 kids loved it when she made it a week later, and it is one of my kids' favorite meals! I won't have any trouble making it in the 2-bedroom in June, but I am curious how one would cook the pasta noodles in a studio. I was thinking you could cook the noodles at home, al dente, then place in a ziploc bag when drained and cooled, and refrigerate the day before leaving(the noodles should be good for 2-3 days if refrigerated, right?) Then heat the noodles up in the microwave before using(probably adding a little water before heating). Anyone know anything about reheating pasta?

I made a pasta figoloi (sp?) recipe I found in Woman's day. I just reheated it in the crock pot here at work today. All I did was add a little water and stir. It came out great. It gets to boiling to the crock pot, so I'm sure you could even cook the noodles in there, but I've never tried it.

Mic - great minds think alike! :)

Microwaving pasta tends to make it rubbery. I'd pre-cook the noodles, put them in a ziplock or tupperware, and dump them in the crock pot for the last 15 minutes of cooking time.

Uncle Bens rice (not the instant) is easy to make in the Micro...check the package for directions...it always comes out perfect!
