Hi everyone! Happy New Year! I bought a pork roast to have New Years Day, but I've never made one before! I have a crock pot- are there any good recipes out there for a pork roast?

My sister just told me she makes it by putting cranberry slices on it and cooking in in the crock pot. She says it's amazing. I'm trying it next week!!

can of Coke, or beer. Or my standby is to pour some BBQ sauce on it and cook it up. It shreds up nicely after that :)

My mom puts the roast in the crock pot with sauerkrut ?sp. and a bottle of beer. Towards the end she puts in a box of pierogies.

The best recipe for pork in a crockpot I have ever found is Trisha Yearwood's. You can search Food Network for it.

After lining the crock pot with sliced onions, I rub the pork with Goya seasoning, garlic powder, a dash of cayenne pepper, salt, and pepper, then pour about a cup or cup and half of Coke over it. I'll re-dash the pork with all of the seasonings to make up for what slid over when I poured the Coke over. I'll usually flip at the halfway point-- 3.5 hours on low (7 hrs total).
I'll either slice it up when it's done (it'll fall apart easily) OR shred it up and broil for 2 mins to crisp up the edges. Either way it's super flavorful and juicy!

Thanks everybody!!!! Happy New Year xoxo!

If you want a great pulled pork put a bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce over it. Then if you like sliced onion, garlic, potatoes in around it. Just scoop out the potatoes before shredding in the pot.

My favorite is cranberry sauce and an onion soup packet mixed together. Then just put it over the roast. Sooooo good!

We put Pork butt in crockpot yesterday. It cooked 12 hours and it is so delicious this morning.
Pork Butt
Bottle of Soy Sauce
Chopped Onion
Garlic powder

I made a 6.5 lb one yesterday in my crock on high for 6.5 hours. It was soooo tender.

I just added:

sliced onions
3 garlic cloves
3 bay leaves
kosher salt & pepper
lots of cumin
smokey paprika
mexican oregano

It fell apart. We like to eat it in corn tortillas with cheese, shredded cabbage, and sour cream. Yum!

I made mine with just a layer of onions and a bottle of beer. Delicious!
