Crock pot meals

Ok I have another one we just had it last night and it was unbelievable.

1 whole chicken
favorite spices to make a rub.
Just clean the chicken rub with favorite spices (we put an orange inside...)
cook on low heat for 8 hours.

No need to add more liquid or anything it was the most tender/flavorful chicken we've ever had! Cheap too, whole chickens here are like $6-$8 we have lots of leftovers!

I would check with hotel to see if they allow cooking in the room.If the hotel doesnt and the maid see th crock pot and reports it to the hotel manager you could probably get in trouble is it worth it

Checking first is the best way to do, if they will allow you to cook in the room. It's great if they allow, so that you will personally cook want you want. It's too expensive if you will always go out and buy some food to eat.

Disney will allow you to cook in rooms, but they will not knowingly allow any cooking devices to remain plugged in when the room is unattended. Housekeeping has instructions to unplug any that they see.

DVC units with a kitchen might be exempt from the rule, but it would apply in a regular room.

One of my absolute favorites is one that I got here on the Disboards:

1 chuck roast
1 jar peppercini peppers

throw in the roast, throw in the jar of peppers--liquid and all--on top and cook on low 6 hours or so. When done the meat will shred easily--great for sandwiches.

Glad you had a great time. When we go to WDW it is for 9-10 nights plus we drive and go other places while in Florida. We do get tired of eating out so having a full kitchen is nice.

Do you take some of the skin off (since it will just get soggy & add alot of fat to the pot)? I will definitely do this next year as I always buy a rotisserarie chicken at the grocery store & use the left over chicken to make soup in the crockpot for another meal.

I also wanted to say that I cooked a whole ham in the crockpot while down in Florida. I just trhew it in with some pineapples and alittle pineapple juice. We had alot left over for making sandwiches, omelets and another meal.

I have to admit my husband did it while I was at work I am pretty sure he left the skin on but I think you could do it either way. It turned out a lot like a rotisserarie chicken. I got the idea for some rubs on http://www.grouprecipes.com

It is my favorite recipe website people rate the recipies and comment it is really great!

Still waiting for the results. Is it still cooking? :rotfl:

My favorite crockpot recipe:

1) take the face plate off of the outlet in your hotel room
2) strip the rubber coating off of the crockpot cord
3) fill the crockpot with a mixture of gasoline and ammonium nitrate (fertilizer)
4) disengage the temperature safety features of the crockpot so that it will not stop heating.
5) leave unattended for hours.
:cool1:

What is wrong with you??

If you throw a roasting bag in the crock pot, then put your stuff in and close the bag, the meal aromas won't penetrate the room's soft surfaces all day long. That being said, I would only use a crockpot if you have a kitchenette with a microwave. Not that you need the microwave, but that would indicate the electrical system would be safe to use the crock potpixiedust: . I do timeshare and my pet peeve with all time shares is that they do not include crockpots!! I can't fit it in my one allowed carry on bag when I fly but I may try it. Is there a TSA approved crock pot for carryon?

I'm no planning on a crock pot at Disney, but some of these recipes sound delicious!

6 skinless boneless chicken breast and a little over half a bottle of italian dressing. I let it cook for 7-8 hrs. Yum ... I will be making this one again.

My favourite passed down by my Mom  is
Fill crock pot with meatballs
Make sauce separately - 1 can crushed pineapple, 3/4 cup ketchup
Pour sauce over meatballs
Slow-cook on low for 4-5 hours
Very yummy - serve on bed of rice or with mashed potatoes

SpectroMax you are sick- very sick!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Thanks everyone for the recipes.

... But here are my favorite crock pot recipes that don't require many ingredients:

BBQ Chicken - bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce and chicken / cook on low all day...

Melt in your mouth sausages - ...

Shredded Beef/Goose/Venison sandwiches -... My husband hunts so we have wild game but works well with beef too...

My mom also did one with pork chops and chicken/rice soup. I can't seem to find it - but I believe that was about all there was to it...

Good luck!
