Another question: Do the Athens flip flops cause pain between the toes? Some sandals bother me and some don't. If they are made of the same material and the shoe, then I think that it wouldn't be a problem for me.
Well, my feet are wide and I probably shouldn't even be in Crocs at all, LOL, but I did buy a pair of Disney Athens out of desperation (my nice wide New Balance were causing me to cry from pain) on our last DLR trip.
When I wore them immediately after buying them, I had to put bandaids on the tops of my feet, b/c they hadn't loosened up yet AND my feet were crazy-swollen from the days in my athletic shoes. I also ended up with swollen "index" toes, the ones on the other side of the shoe thong from my big toe. They itched like they were having an allergic reaction, it was really weird, but the bones of my feet were so comfy I didn't even care.
Now my feet have calmed down and the tops of the shoes have eased, and now I find myself getting small blisters on those same toes. Nothing bad, but it's happening. The shoes themselves are still so comfy on my bones that I am dealing with it, and I plan to wear them (with a pocketful of small bandaids to put around my toes if needed) on our day trip to DLR tomorrow.
It's not a ringing endorsement, but I like them all the same!
Oh, and mine are a size 11...I'm a size 8, 8.5, Wide, in normal shoes.
