If you've been reading my posts you know my 12/6 room unavailable problem.

To refresh- have room at ASMO or PO (will decide) at BBK rate for 12/5, nothing for 12/6, and 12/7-10 at CS.

Called this am and got a great guy on the phone at CRO- he kept putting in dates and found that if he put in 12/6-12/12 at the Coronado Springs he could book it with the code.

Since I need to check out on 12/10 I thought that was a problem, but he said no- that I could book that at the special rate ($85) and then later just call to "modify" the ressie and drop the last two days.

He said it was a way to get around non-availablity issues- because there actually are rooms- Disney just wants to rent them for a certain LOS.

Does this sound right? Make ressies for say 12/5-12/12 at one resort for the BBK rate and then be able to drop the last few days "modify" with no problems??

PS He also said that FL residents have been offered a special rate for that weekend 12/6 of $49 and $69 value and moderate so that is why they are filling up.

I have read of people modifing there ressies just as you state...

So, I'd go ahead and give it a try if its' the rate that you need...

I am a Florida Resident and was not offered POR for 69.00. I just tried to call DC and it says for Unforseen reasons they cannot answer the phones and to try back later. I just tried CRO and Im getting the same message.

I hope you went ahead and made the ressies as you may never get that offer from another CM again! I have not heard of any $69 moderate offer for us either(FL resident).
It is easy to modify a ressie. I have done that several times.:D

I've had a CM make the same suggestion a couple of times and was able to modify the ressie with no problem. I'd say go for it. Good luck.:)

We always modify our ressies. I usually book my room far out- 6 months in advance. I book for the week that I want and I book extra days on both sides. I keep checking airfare until I find a cheap one. Once time, I couldn't get airfare for my room ressie dates and I played the same game; trying to get a date added to our reservation. So becuase of that I book the extra days and when I get the airfare I get rid of the extra days.

I have never had a problem doing that. Besides, once you book the room and pay the deposit, I don't see Disney saying well take your money back, we don"t want you.

Good luck, I hope it all works out for you.

I have a ressie at POFQ for the weekend of 12/6 for FL resident rate of $79 that was booked in Sept. I'm pretty sure that code expired in Sept but half the people I know are going that weekend so maybe that's what he was talking about.

I guess I better run make a call and see if I can save another $10 nite!

Yep, thats right! Funny things go on with Disney's computers and this has happened to me before as well. I always just book it and drop off the days I don't need. Ususally if the dates I want are somewhere in the dates I am offered I just book it right then and there! For some reason one or two nights at a time are much harder to come by, but a week at a time seems to be easy! I have never had a problem dropping dates off of an already confirmed ressie. I have dropped the last two nights, the first two nights as well as a night off the beginning and one off the end on one ressie. Never had an issue with this.

I heard that the Disney travel offices (both WDWTC and CRO) had floods in their offices today and were having some computer issues because of it. I called at 8 am this morning (PST) to confirm my Dec ressie and had no problem getting ahold of someone though.

Sounds like an interesting tactic to keep in mind if I have trouble booking the room we need for the time we need. Thanks! :):D:)
