I just made reservations for our rooms last night. Room only. We are going January 19-28 2010, staying at POP....during what is currently considered value season....standard room....no holiday weekends involved in our time frame. The current rate posted for value resort/value season is $82/night. That is the same as when we travelled last year and our deposit was $92.25 US...last night however, my deposit had to be $151.88 US/ room...CRO said that was the rate generated for my dates 2010. Just wondering if anyone else has had this experience...because that is one heck of a jump in cost.:scared1:

I had a similar thing happen on Sunday, I called to add 3 extra nts onto our reservation for the asmu for Aug15-18 which should have been $92 a nt but she quoted me $125 a nt including tax. When I questioned her on this she said it was due to the 4 for 3 special I had. She also said the $125 didn't included tickets just room only. But if I wanted to due up a new reservation I would be able to get the $92 rate but no gty I would get to stay in the same room. I would have to go down and check out than check back in. For the life of me I can't figure out her logic in regards to the way she was pricing up the room. Did you try and book it on line and see what kind of a price you get? Good Luck

Unfortunately, they only allow dates upto Dec 31/09...so specific dates for 2010 I cannot price online yet. However, we have known that we are going since last fall and I played online and got a quote for the same dates 09 and those dates were $82/night +tx.....I even went to CAA travel and had them quote room rates only and package deals for me , so that I would know an approximate budget. I don't understand why they are charging so high for a room only reservation deposit...considering what our room rate was last time with the CAA discount ($55+tx per night) this is almost 3X the amount. (They will not apply the CAA discount until I call back in Aug. when the 2010 rates come out) I certainly hope that Disney doesn't expect to raise their rates that much and attract business considering we are just now truly starting to feel the crunch of the recession.:confused3
