Will CRO check AAA room-only rates for me if I am not a member of AAA yet?
DU won't check without a AAA member number. And I won't join AAA unless we decide to book WDW with it.

Also, for room-only, do I can (407)W-DISNEY? I don't want to get WDTC and pay in-full 45 days out.

I think that you call the same number, the CM just has to go to a different system to book CRO. I had to change mine from a package to room only when I realized that there was a difference and I wanted the 5 day cancellation policy instead of the 45.

I called, explained I wanted room only with the 5 day reservation term and they cancelled my first and reassigned the reservation under the CRO system. Just be very detailed in what you want, don't assume they will automatically give you "room only" terms rather than a package even if you are booking room only. With room only you pay the first night as a deposit, with a package it is $200.00.

About the AAA question, I don't know I'm wondering that myself.

Good luck!!

Yes, CRO will check AAA rates without a AAA number. I just did it yesterday to see what I could possibly get in May. I priced it at regular rates and then asked if there were any AAA rooms available. The CM gave me a AAA rate at POP with no additional questions asked.

What if I sign up now and don't have my membership card yet, with WDW let me apply the discount and show the card upon check in, I wonder?

Perfect. Thank you so much.

You can also check AAA rates yourself through aaa.com without being a member. You don't need your membership number through their website until you book.

I have not found where I can do that on their site. Can you give me a link or more specific instructions?

HeyGan - Just called. Only WL courtyard available for my dates at AAA's 15% off. BUT they would not begin an actual reservation without the AAA member number. So it could disappear before I get my card. She had to start a ressie at rack rate.

Wen8jr - They were clear on the room-only policies once I requested it. Your advice worked nicely. Thanks.

I just called reservations to check AAA availability for a specific resort. They even booked my room with AAA discount without a membership number. But said that I will need to show my AAA card at check-in.

What number did you call? My CM was polite but said she absolutely could not do that. I would call back and try again, but I don't want to spend another 30 minutes on my cell phone to hear the same thing.

BlueFairy - I called 407-824-8000 I was surprised she said yes when I asked if I could book it even though I wasn't a member yet. I think I just got lucky. Sometime thats what it comes down to. Just keep trying.

I had to put in my zip code so maybe yours pulls up a different local AAA office. My zip is 01862 so I get Merrimack Valley AAA if you want to try mine. From there, clicked Travel in the top bar, then Hotels in the second bar, that pulled up this search function

I hope this works. Under question 3 is a Hotel Preferences dropdown menu where you can select Disney World Resorts.

Well - I just called and asked for the AAA rate to be added to my room only ressie at POR and had no problems. I asked if that would hurt any of my initial requests and she said no, those still apply.

The CM did not ask for membership card, said I would have to present it at check in. Now, I just need to remember to bring it.

As easy as that. My rate went from 175.00 per night to 148.75 per night. Not bad.

Ugh! This time I tried exactly that and the new CM wouldn't even try to check it for me. I must have bad karma today or something.

The first CM wouldn't for me either, suggested I call AAA first they have better rates through them. I wonder what Disney would do if they knew he was trying to push business away. :confused3

Anyway, the second CM was very professional, pulled my ressie right up and added the AAA discount.

Maybe you'll have better luck 2nd time around.:shamrock:

That works like a charm. My local site is completely different. Unfortunately, at least for my dates, I was getting rack rates quoted for AKL and WL. There are discounts for our dates for Poly, Beach Club, POFQ, & CSR. Thanks for the link, though.
