Critter Country

The calendar can change, but two days out it should be accurate.

They already changed it once. Originally, Critter Country was supposed to open back up on 3/8...but then they changed it to 3/10.

I will report back after my trip, assuming anyone is interested.

yes please!
I am leaving for DLR on the 16th and would love to know if Pooh is back open!

Critter Country / No Splash.....don't bother. Candy shop is great but there is a good one on mainstreet too. As far as canoes go I really can't say, we have been to Disney now 16 times in 10 years and I still have never done them (who wants to work on vacation):confused3, maybe this summer I will try just to make sure I am not missing anything.;)

:rotfl: I TOTALLY AGREE!!!! I know other people enjoy the canoes but no thanks!!!! When I go on vacation I want to get away from work. Mind you this gives me a great idea.... If others enjoy working on vacation so much....

IF ANYONE COMES TO CANADA FOR A VISIT!!!! FEEL FREE!!! I WILL GIVE YOU MY VACUUM!!!!

Going on 3/23, def interested! Thanks.:cheer2:

We were just at DL for the Divas trip, and it still looked like plenty of work needed to be finished up before Critter Country could be opened up. I know they probably work round the clock at DL, but really, when we went past on the train and the Columbia, you could see planks of wood lying around, tarps covering piles of equipment. I would be surprised if it was opened within a week!

Not to sound like a dirty old lady or anything, but the canoes are worth it just for the cast member costumes, if you get my drift....

Hi, I asked information yesterday when I was there and they stated it was reopening on the 10th..... :)

I guess I'm thankful that I got to pay homage to the "Jamboree mounts" in Pooh in November. Do you think anything will be open by 3/23? I see Splash is still officially down then. That's a long time! Too long for Star Tours too. :3dglasses

Oops. Just saw new info from Paula. Thanks.

Just got home from a 2-day trip. Pooh was closed yesterday, but open today. Splash is, of course, still closed...same with Hungry Bear Restaurant. I saw them painting the deck there today.

Let me know if there are questions...I will post a quick trip report later!

So what happens to the Ferral cats that live in that area? We LOVE going to the basement of the Hungry Bear and viewing/talking to the cats that live around there. It's one of the high points of our trip! :)

yay thanks for the info!
Glad Pooh is back open.

HAHA! Yep I get your drift!!!

Everything except Splash was running Mar 23-29. Caught the Country Bear Jamboree heads hiding in Pooh still (ya'll now what I'm talking about, right?), bought really good english toffee at the Pooh Corner store, saw some adorable little ones at the character meet n' greet, shared a cheeseburger and sweet potato fries with my 16 YO daughter :cheer2: at the Hungry Bear and didn't even need to paddle a canoe to 'drift' the CM's in those great costumes - we just watched them from the HB balcony and both appreciated the casting! Having both Splash and Star Tours :yoda: down for months is too long (missed 'em on my Nov trip too), but it was a great six days anyway. I'm ready to go back. Wish I had a transporter to just spend an afternoon there once in awhile - especially since it's still cold with hail and snow at home now!!!:tigger:

My youngest made us ride pooh I can't even tell you how many times. LOVE pooh! Yah without kids tho and if I was a teen I'd be like.. meh.

I don't know - tell me more.... are we talking about a moose head or something as in WDW?

We left on the early morning on the day this response was posted so didnt get to see before we went. We looked everywhere for this - can't believe we still missed it - in fact we went on the ride a second time just to have another look.

I have to give my Disney-fanatic sister credit for knowing how and where to look for the mounted critters. I don't check the dis-boards that often and am, in fact, a newbie, so I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner when to look up and behind you to find them. It's toward the end of the ride, just before you come out (close to the birthday party?), right as you pass through one of the 'doors'. Frijolefrito might know more accurately..?
