Well we are headed for WDW this December and are going to try to get ADR's for each day there. We went with the Deluxe Dining plan and want to use it. Here is our current plan, let me know what you think.

Sun :
Breakast - Hotel
Lunch - Park
Dinner - Liberty Tree Tavern

Mon:
Breakast - Hotel
Lunch - Park
Dinner - Corel Reef

Tue:
Breakfast - Donalds Safari
Lunch - Park
Dinner - Yak & Yeti

Wed:
Breakast - Hotel
Lunch - Park
Dinner - 50's Prime Time or Sci Fi Dine in?

Thu:
Breakast - Hotel
Lunch - Park
Dinner - Chef Mickey's

Fri:
Breakast - Hotel
Lunch - Park
Dinner - Captain Jack's

Sat:
Breakast - Hotel
Lunch - Park
Dinner - Ohana's

I'm a little worried that my 8yo won't want anything from the childrens menus. Do they allow substitutions???

I was also wondering.... If you have the 7day plan and have snacks leftover, can you use them on day 8 before you leave the park?

Thanks!

Are you sure you want to eat table service for every dinner? Sometimes we just don't feel like going back to a park in the evening.

I personally don't like Chef Mickey's that much and would trade Crystal Palace but that's a personal choice.
Just a thought.

Yes is the answer to the last question.

Well my thought is since we have to eat and we will be doing counter services for lunch we should enjoy table services for dinner. We will most likely be at one of the parks at dinner time so I tried to choose some table service dinners at each park.

(this is our first trip to disney) :)

They look great. However, I would do either Crystal Palace for breakfast or Cape May Cafe for breakfast rather than Chef Mickey's.

We usually mix it up and do either breakfast and dinner or just lunch TS and then play the rest by ear. Just gives us more options for later in the day.
Like at DTD I would probably do WGP Express CS so that my little ones have more time to explore and do Goofy's Candy.
I would do sci-fi with your 8 year old. We do 50's with my kids but they are preschoolers.

Have a great time!

My family used the Deluxe plan in January and it worked out great for us... We travel with a 2 year old who likes breakfast the best, so we did a lot of the character breakfast buffets- our favorites were Cape May, Crystal Palace, Donald's Safari, and 1900 Park Fare. It seems that since we did this, we were not really that hungry for lunch, so really a snack or spliting a counter service meal would do. We would then have a very nice dinner- my favorite is the Kona Cafe. We are going again and although I had been skeptical about using 2 swipes for some of the signature meals and dinner shows, I have figured that it is worth it for us. Basically, eat a big breakfast, have a soft pretzel as a snack for lunch (Since you get 2 sanck swipes a day as well) and then head to Hoop Dee Doo, the Luau or the Brown Derby (which is delicious!) or something. As well with the Deluxe plan you get appetizers, so we always had leftovers in the frig from the night before.

That looks great! CM is not a fave...but I think it is something you have to do at least once...and it is your first time so you need to do it.

The only two I can comment on are Liberty Tree Tavern and Coral Reef. Both are places I have enjoyed. As a matter of fact have LTT on our adr list for our up coming trip.

For the Coral Reef I had the filet mignon (allergy to fish :sad2: ) and it was great.

Liberty Tree Tavern watch out for Goofy, he likes to pick on people then say he didn't :rotfl2: My nephew ratted him out to me and he tried to act innocent :lmao: Food is great and you can get as much as you want.

I also agree with those who mentioned Crystal Palace. They have good food there. And if you like buffets 1900 Park Fare is really good too. They have the famous Strawberry Soup there on the dinner buffet.

I also wanted to add-- I got distracted..... I wrote "My family used the Deluxe plan in January and it worked out great for us... " couple of posts up.

I know that you will get a lot of opinions, but if you do have the luxury of the deluxe dining plan and if there are any girls in your group, then I think you may want to think about eating at Cinderella's one day... There will probably be a whole host of people who will disagree with me and certainly if you are a family on a fixed budget, there are considerations. However, on a deluxe dining plan it might be a consideration. We went once for a breakfast and I think it is worth an extra swipe (at least once in your life).
And the meal has gratutity in it, so you actually spend less at the meal. Eating in the castle feels pretty special to me.
