I have an expression and last night I was cutting Hamm from the Toy Story cartridge. When I was done it seems like his shadow was too latge for the body cut. The shape was fine but once put together it didn't match or look like the image on the box. Any ideas??? I shouldn't have to change the dial between cuts should I????:confused3

Thanks!!

No ... you do not have to change the dial size while cutting shapes. Just make sure you don't have "Real Dial Size" on ... but that would make the pieces really impossible to put together ... if real dial were set and you had the machine on 3 inches all the pieces would cut at 3 inches. I know with the Hello Kitty cart there was a lot of the base piece showing. Could you possibly post a picture of the Hamm you cut? I do have the Toy Story cart but have only cut Hamm's head and didn't seem to have a problem with it.

See how thick the edging is....and it was on the right dial size:confused:

I don't have the Toy Story cart, so I can't speak specifically to that one, but I did have this same thing happen to me with the Pooh cart when I got it. I didn't assemble the pieces on the "base". I just cut the shadow & assembled it on there--doing the "base" and then putting it on the shadow slimmed down the amount of "border".

Now, that may not be the problem. . .it's just what happened to me!

He's very cute :), but, I think SIOH may be on the right track. That has happened to me too on Disney carts if I try to skip the base piece.

I just cut that the other night and mine didn't have that thick of a border. Did you accidently bump the dial size (I did this a few times) or did you use shadow?

So the black part is the base not the shadow??? I should cut a "shadow" instead????

Hmmm...did it have all the little lines cut into the paper to show you where to glue your pieces? I'm curious I'll try cutting one. Give me a few minutes.

ETA: Here's what I got cutting black base, pink body, white shadow at 5 inches. I didn't put him together really carefully and didn't cut the extra tiny pieces, but, you get the idea.

Hope this helps :)

I did use the shadow and not the base...but now I know! Thanks all. I can't wait to get my new software for my Pazzles machine next week. Oh the pages I'll make!!! It's crazy, I can run the Pazzles Pro with ease but get stumped on the Cricut:rotfl:

Thanks again!!!!
