Cricut Question - how do you get the lines to show up?

OK I am new to Cricut'ing. Just got my expression on Tuesday and have been playing with it a LOT. Anyways, I have a few cartridges with it and several of them have images where a line is cut but no paper is removed. For instance, the faces on paper doll dress up. On the pics they show you can see the blackout color behind these lines very well. But on mine you can only see the lines if you look really close. What do you all do to make this detail show up... any suggestions??

You can put in a marker and have it draw the line before it cuts.

I usually go over the cuts with a gel pen after the entire image is completed.

If I want the lines to be subtle, like on animal figures where their legs are, I use a versamarker after. If I want them more pronounced then I either use a gel pen, regular marker, or if it's VERY complex, then I use the Cricut Markers first, hit load paper and then cut.

OK the cricut marker before cutting worked pretty good for some of my designs! That was fun and thanks for the suggestion (altho a little tedious and the line is sometimes thicker than I would like).

Then I bought some gel pens (just a few) because I had cut out the skeleton from paper doll dress up and outlined all the lines with a metallic silvery one. Looks GREAT and so easy! Thanks everyone!!

Now I just read about stickles and I want some of them too... this stuff is addicting! :thumbsup2

You can have some success with changing the thickness of your cricut markers lines by changing the pressure and blade depth - -you will get thinner and lighter lines with lower pressure and lower number blade depth

Oh I tried varying pressure to 1 but it didn't draw complete lines. I didn't think about blade depth DUH! I always keep it on max cause that's the only way it cuts through a lot of the cardstock. Good idea!!

I bought a gel pen holder to use with the cricut from customcrops. I love it.

I've just discovered this site and can't wait til next month when I will have $ to buy some new cartridges from there (already spent all my fun money this month!!)
