I should know this, but I can't figure it out.

My cricut mat is very well used on the sides, but has never had a cut in the middle. The paper is not wanting to stick on near the edge, and I don't have another mat here.

I'm thinking there should be some way I can make it cut out of the middle, but I'm not sure how. Does anyone know? I hate to throw it away, although I've done it with all of the other ones I've had, just because it's used up around the edges.

Thanks,
Steph

stick your paper, load the page and use your up/down/left buttons (around the cut button) to move the blade to where you want it. Line up the top right corner just like it would look if it were just loaded.

If that doesn't make sense let me know, I'll snap a few pics and post them.

DD wants to use the computer so I will get the other laptop out, it's just really slow so it will take a few minutes to load pics.

Thank you both! BAMB, I think I can do that! If not, I'll post again, but it might be later on. Time to get kids in bed, lol.

You can also re-sticky your mat with either a zig pen or repositional adhesive. :goodvibes

BAMB, it worked! Thanks again

jacksmomma - Do I just put the glue on the mat the same as I would on paper? That would be great, especially since my WM doesn't carry mats anymore. I have at least an hour's drive to any place that sells them.

You can also wash your mat with dish soap and let it dry. You can also keep it stickier by wiping it down with non-alcohol baby wipes.

If you are re-sticking the mat you need to clean it off completely with goo gone and scrape all the old off. Then apply Zig glue very thin do not get it in on the edge or your rollers will get gummed up.

If your local walmart does not carry the mat any more you can still use site to store from walmart, free shipping to the store. Amazon also carries them and blades at a good price with free shipping if you spend $25.

If you use the zig pen, get the really fat wide one. When you put the glue down it will be blue, try to get a thin even layer. Let dry, DO NOT put the cover on until it's dry!!!!!!!!!!
I usually leave them out overnight before recovering.

*disclaimer - If your machine is still under warranty (warranty is 1 year) do not do this!! Cricut will void the warranty.

* disclaimer to the disclaimer - I've had both my bugs for years and have never had an issue with the mats are re-gluing.

make sure you press - set paper size or it will go back to the edge again

Lots of people do different things for mats. I know a number of people who use the zig pens to restick which I haven't tried. Some have done a repositionable stencil glue, which I tried and it worked ok. Another popular way is a canned adhesive available from custom crops to restick. If you do any sort of spray just mask (tape off) the sides so that they don'e get sticky and only the paper section gets sticky. You just want to be sure you have all remaining adhesive washed off first. Good luck!
