Cricut Expression bundle $299 ACM - talk me in/out of it NOW!

We have the baby bug - got it this past Christmas (Ebay - new but only cost $100).

This bundle is on special (online) only until 5/29/09 - and the shipping is only 4.99!!!!!!!!! Woo woo!

Love my baby one, but am dying to make the larger/smaller cuts on the Expression. This ACM bundle has 4 carts (don't have three of 'em - can sell or gift the other one), inks, mat, etc. - which makes it nicer to me than the other bundles with only two carts - or none.

I'm thinking that I'd love to keep both machines - and use my baby bug for deep (chipboard) cuts with my special blade, inking, etc. and not have to switch out the blades so often...and yes, I know that's rationalizing!!!! Now, I can use an Expression at crops and at TinkerBean's, but those aren't one of my own...(I know, sob!) DH really doesn't care - he's tolerant of my scrappy spending, as I am of his hobby extravagances - we're lucky that way.

OK - fess up - does *anyone* have both machines? Am I totally nuts for even considering taking advantage of this special? (No comments welcome from Z2H - I know how she feels!!!! But, I'm sure she'd be in line to use the Expression if we had one...!)

I believe BAMB (BernardandMissBianca) and AWM (Alexwyattmommy) have both machines and utilize them both!!!
If I had the room, I'd have both...since I have a small area to work w/ I got the create.. I can do a lot of the same features as the expression except go really big... I'm limited to the 6x12 mat...but that is okay with me!!!!!

I sold my baby bug after I got the E. I found a perfect sized tool box that the E fits in, so I can cart it where ever I want. It's heavy, but I wouldn't not bring it. I think Holly has both too.

I was going to post this cuz I got the email yesterday...For that price, you really can't go wrong (it comes with 4 cartridges and a set of markers!

Ok...my little enabler friends...I DID IT! We're unpacking the big beauty now!

I actually called the B&M store shortly after I started the thread to see if they would honor the ACM.com online price - the store manager happily did, as long as I brought a printout of the email! So, I zipped over there. So, no shipping cost and no tax (Salem, NH).

I totally lucked out - there are two 5-packs of the pens inside - a primary set and a fashion set - the bundle was only advertised as including one set of five! (But the box says "7 Cricut Color inks" - didn't think they came by 7s...) All four carts are there and Z2H has already listed our new (duplicate) Stretch one on Amazon for sale. She's been the one yelling all morning..."You don't NEED an Expression!" But guess who is planning to be the first one to use it!)

TinkerBean - I don't have to mooch off you anymore for my larger cuts! And I don't have to monopolize the Expression during crops at our LSS, like I did the other night! Even DS9 is thrilled - he excitedly said "The Cricut Expression is so much better than our old(!) one!" as I walked in with the box. The little bugger - this is the kid who, on Christmas Day, yelled "We are a Cricut family!" when the baby bug was unwrapped.

While there, I also picked up five more of the $5 Disney Piglet/Pooh scrapbooks - the only design left there in 12 x 12. Yes, I did leave SOME on the shelf! They did have about a dozen 8 x 8s also in a Pooh design left, too.

DO IT! I thought immediately of you when I got that email. That is the exact price I paid for mine, on Black Friday a few years back, and it is a great deal.

I have both bugs. I use the expression 99% of the time, but I can't bring myself to get rid of my baby bug. It hasn't completely collected dust, though. I have let a friend borrow it, and I have brought it to crops when I had a lot of cutting to do and I didn't want to be a Cricut hog.

You definitely will not regret buying the big one. It's not just being able to make bigger cuts - there are several other features that make it worthwhile.

Congratulations. I got my expression for Christmas and just used it for the first time this past weekend. I cannot believe that I waited so long to do so! I made a simple first page for our most recent disney trip. Do you live in NH ? I do. I did have trouble making the shadow for the stars that I put on the page from one of the Mickey cartridges.

as for the makers i FINALLY broke mine out last weekend and they worked awesome! i'd love them. sorry it took me so long to do it!

Our (emailed) ad - no ACM print ad this Sunday in our paper - shows $319 too.

It also offers a special Cricut accessory pack ("worth $70") by mail from ProvoCraft with the purchase of this Expression bundle. Not sure if this is REALLY worth $70, but it seems to have some useful stuff in it (mats, vinyl, tools, etc.) - probably worth *at least* the $20 difference between the last sale price and this one.

I'd say...see if your local store will honor this week's ACM price (link below). (You'll probably have to print out the ad below and take it into the store with you.)
