Cricut Design Studio ?

I just got CDS and am having fun with it. One thing I can't figure out and it doesn't mention anything in the book. When I click on a letter like A the outer outline of the letter will be red, but the inside triangle is black. Then I can click on the triangle part and make that red and the outer part (rest of the letter) black. Is there something special you can do with the red part? Or the black part?

I think those lines are part of the "hide contour" feature. I posted a link to a video tutorial. THis person's tutorial are very good.

Susan, THANK YOU so much! The tutorial totally helped and fixed what I was try to make! I spent hours last night trying to fix my box thing and in 2 seconds waaa laaa! I checked out a bunch of the other tutorials. They are great! Definately book marked the blog! Thanks again!
