Hi Kevin. I don't know who's been pulling your leg about no bath-tub in HRH rooms (suites or otherwise!) but it is most definitely that - a leg pull. It would be unheard of for ANY hotel room in the US not to include a bath, and what is more likely is that HRH suites include a separate shower as well as the bath. I hope this sets any shower-fearing souls to rest!!

Simon

Ring the HRH and ask, you will find that they have no bath tub in the King suite I am staying in, only a walk in shower.

This was confirmed to me by someone on these boards who has stayed in the same room.

Simon, your book is great but your bath advice is way off here....maybe I should receive a discount off your next book for your dodgy advice.... :) :) :)

Maybe we should have a bet on it?

Kevin

You must let us know when you get back whether you had a bath tub or not.

Let us know what the other features of the King Suite are. It sounds great. We are only going to a "pool room" for two nights.

There are big debates over on the DVC boards about rooms without baths. I find it hard to believe that a suite at HRH doesn't have them.

Have a great time shower or not.

P.S We have a signed Archie Gemmill photo next to our pc!!!!

I promise you that the king suite 5040 does not have a bath, just a walk in shower.... this info below is from someone here who emailed me and he has stayed in this particular suite...

"The room itself (King Suite) is quite a big room. Your 3 year old will love the room because he/she can run around the room in a circle, through the bathroom. (we have a 2 year old) Incidentally there is no bath in the King Suite, but it has a great walk-in Shower. "

Can't believe this thread has turned into chat about baths !!

Just goes to show where our priorities lie! :teeth:

And I have to admit, you are 100% accurate, Kevin, much to my shock (and tattered memory!). The King Suites are the only rooms in the whole of the Universal Orlando resort that don't have bathtubs, but no-one at the hotel can explain why!! I'm afraid my observation was based on the Kidsuites at HRH, which DO have bathtubs, and the suites at both PB and RPR, where I have toured fairly extensively. Frankly, I am amazed, as their website certainly doesn't mention the lack of a bathtub, and I would be pretty p'd off if I splashed out for a suite and didn't get something big to soak in at the end of the day (and I'm not talking about the ice-bucket!). My hat is off to you for doing your research so well on such a minor point, and it is a great little line to add to the Guide next time. No bathtub, indeed! What a cheek!! Oh, and for anyone else worried about the possibility of a 'no bathtub' horror scenario, all the regular rooms at HRH DO have a tub (with shower), as does every other room I've ever stayed in in Orlando (and I've lost count of those :teeth: ).

All the best, Kevin, and have a wonderful trip - bathtub or no bathtub :rotfl:
