Disney gave me the number for All About Kids for a crib rental, but they said their mattress was foam and about three inches thick. I found information on this site about another company, A Baby's Best Friend. It looks like they may have cribs more like the one we have here at home, but I am not sure. Also, just found out about Children's Furniture Rental. No website for them though.

Has anyone out there rented from one or all of these companies? Which was better? My son (just turned age 1) is still waking in the night, but lately he's only been waking up once. I don't want to mess that up on this trip! Help! Thanks.

ABBF was great, and the crib was a real crib with a real mattress. I highly recommend them.

We have always used Children's Furniture Rental (407) 522-0233. We received their number from the Grand Floridian and they will not only deliver the full size wooden crib and mattress (like the ones we have at home), but they will also have it completely set up in your room for you when you arrive. I know when I called ABBF, they no longer set up the crib for you. You have to get the crib from the front desk and bring it to your room and set up. You also have to take it down and bring it back to the front desk again when you check out. I know that my dh did not want to mess with that while on vacation.

Call the number above for Children's Furniture Rental and ask for Roy. He is the nicest man. We had a beautiful wooden crib with linens, that was spotless, and when we were ready to check out, he would come and get it from your room so you don't have to mess with it. They also have other baby furniture items too. I think we only paid about $9.00 a night for the crib rental, and my dd slept just like she did at home!!!

Help!! Now I'm confused (not to hard to do...lol) I now have a $70.00 resssie with abbf and they don't put the crib up or take it down..and a $84.00 ressie with Children's furniture rentals..but they assemble and remove the crib....hmmmmm..a tired 20 month old waiting for daddy to put together a crib at the end of the night or $14.00 extra dollars for the convienience :confused3 :rolleyes1 :crazy2:

Is that really a question? Pay the extra $14.00

$14.00 is definately worth the hastle of setting up and taking down the crib. Do you really want to carry a full size crib, mattress and linens with you back and forth from your room to the front desk of the resort? Remember you'are on VACATION!!!!

We used Children's Furniture Rental many times and Roy is a sweetheart! They provided awesome service!!!

OK. I'm now considering "Children's Furniture Rental" too. A few follow-up questions...

1.) Do you have to be there when they setup and take down the crib? I am assuming so, and if so, isn't that a bit of a hastle? Do they give you a window of time that they will be arriving?

2.) What is the bedding like? Is it cute? Disney themed perhaps? And yep, I think that stuff matters.

3.) What about cleanliness? Is everything sanitized? Did the bed look to be in good shape?

If all the above pans out, then they do seem like the best option. I anxiously await a reply :)

No you do not need to be there when they set up or take down. Someone from the resort, probably housekeeping is there to let them into your room before you arrive. When we made our crib reservations with Children's Furniture Rental, Roy just asked us what time we would be arriving and he made sure he had it set up for us. He doesn't arrive until later in the day after you check out to remove the crib, so there is no waiting around at all.

As far as the crib goes, it was spotless, sanitized and the mattress was in perfect shape. The linens were Disney themed and bagged for sanitary reasons. They were freshly laundered. We still brought my dd's own blanket and crib sheets from home, since we thought it would be a familiar look and scent for her, but the linens that were brought with the crib were very nice.

The crib is a solid wooden crib like the ones we have at home. Perfect shape, and not flimsy at all.

When you use ABBF the crib is held for at luggage storage so the Bellman brings it up for you and takes it back down when you leave.

I would make sure that "Children's Furniture" can do the set up for any room and not just concierge.

We had great service from ABBF and very nice quality crib and bedding but I will agree that setting up/taking down the crib was a bit of a pain. My DH is an extreem perfectionist and it took him more than 5 - 10 minutes. The next trip I rented a toddler bed for my oldest and just had the baby (then 2) in the bed with me.

Thanks for the info! I just got off the phone with Children's Furniture Rental for our upcoming trip in May. It is a long weekend trip, so we'll only be staying 3 nights, which is a wash between ABBF and CFR - $54.62 for CFR (with linens which are separate from the crib rate, so you could bring your own if you wanted and save a little bit) and $55 for ABBF. I figure I'll come out a little bit ahead since I won't have to tip the bellman for bringing up the crib or taking it back down when we check out ;)

Lovesdumbo - I confirmed that the crib will be set up and taken down for us by CFR and we're not staying in concierge.

That is great. Wish I had know about them!

We did not stay concierge and the crib was still set up for us. I agree with KristinU, that you can save even more money by bringing your own linens, and you don't have to tip the bellman, and spend your vacation time setting up and taking down a crib.

Thanks everyone! I made my reservatoins with Roy from cfr without linens because i was planning on bringing my own anyway..so seven nights is $61.80 incuding setup and breakdown :flower: BTW this is my first trip to Disney ever,dh's first in 30 some years and Ds5 and ds20months..wooohooo can't wait :bounce:

Thanks Again
Lori :wave2:

OK. Me too. I also booked through Children's Furniture Rental. I got the crib and the bedding for a total of $69.84 for four nights.

Long4Disney, I think you must secretly work for the company. You got them two rentals off this post alone :)

I'll report back after my trip on how we liked the company. Hopefully, I'll also report that my DS slept very, very well. That'll be a first :rotfl:

Know, I don't work for CFR, I just like to give someone my business who I feel is deserving of it. Roy and his wife have been so pleasant to deal with, so I am glad to give them some business based on my recommendation. I think that is why the GF gives out his name because they never have to deal with guests complaints about him or his company!!!

Have an awesome trip! We will be back to WDW in a month, but this time only my 11 year old son and me! Dad is staying home with my 2 year old, so we can have a mom and son time alone to do anything we want!!! Wow, no worries about cribs, car seats, strollers, diapers etc... this trip!!!

Maybe we'll try CFR on our next trip as well. I wish it had a website; I prefer to place orders online and receive instant written confirmations of all terms, etc. We used ABBF last time and things worked out well. But it was a bit of a pain -- not much, but some -- to wait for DH to put the crib together after a long trip. And yes, we had to pay for bell service each way; since the crib and other equipment we rented are heavy, we tipped extra. I'm glad to hear CFR is recommended by the Grand Floridian.

We have used ABBF several times over the past few years and each time it gets better. I actually prefer the way they do it now; deliver to the luggage room and let me set it up myself.

We have arrived in the past and then had things wrong with the rooms assigned to us, and we have had to go check over a different room, (sometimes at an entirely different section of the resort) to make sure it was OK. If our crib had already been in the room, that would have been one more hassle we didn't need trying to get it moved or someone to move it.

ABBF's cribs are so easy to put together and take apart. I am not mechanically inclined, but it's easy. And we could not ask for a better crib, always clean and like new. The linens (included, not charged extra) are always clean and fresh. As far as the bellman, we tip for our luggage, so the couple of extra $ for the crib is no big deal. Besides, $70 for ABBF for the week vs. $84 for CFR is a no-brainer. Fourteen bucks is fourteen bucks. I prefer ABBF’s detailed website and the fact I can see photos of everything and order right there.

The convenience of making sure the room the resort assigns to us is the one we’re keeping is worth the few minutes it takes me to make the crib. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Incidentally, last time I called the Grand Floridian and they gave me ABBF. I guess it just depends on who you speak to.

OK, now I'm a little worried. If they assign my room before I arrive, and we get a room that doesn't work for us, that is gona be a problem. What do we do, call CFR to come back and disassemble and reassemble?

Also, can the crib be moved from room to room without disassembling? Are the doors big enough? We have a two bedroom at the Beach Club Villas. I am still uncertain which room the crib needs to be in.

Help!!!
