I have used a bleaching system from my dentist for the past 18months.. initial cost $350 with refill bleach-$29.. the results were fine. I did have a little trouble with the bleach causing increased irritability of my gums and teeth.

My eldest dd suggested I try the Crest whitening strips last month.

I LOVE THEM! The cost $26 for a 2 week, 2x/day tx. Easy to use and the results are FABULOUS!!!!

The only things I would change are.. the size of the strips, I wish they were longer and wrapped around more teeth. AND I have learned NOT to drink coffee or tea for the first 2 hours after using the strips.. one day I forgot and had coffee.. YIKES! my teeth had a sunny yellow hue... but it went away as soon as I rebrushed my teeth with regular toothpaste.

So.. It is bye-bye bulking trays and nasty bleach from the dentist.
If you have not tried the Crest strips.. do so..
Happy grins and giggles!

I've used them too, with good results.

Thanks for the review of this product. I have been thinking of using them and I just might buy them now.

I've been interested in this new product: Colgate Simply White. It's a paint on gel.

Sorry, I haven't really researched it enough yet. They do have a website: www.colgatesimplywhite.com --- but I haven't checked it out as well as I'd like. And I'd like to ask my dentist about it. If it's ADA approved I may go for it.

Something to think about,

Annemarie

The new commercials for Crest whitening strips shows a person trying hard to not let her lips cover her teeth after using a new paint-on whitener, becasue your saliva can rinse the whitener off! It's kind of a funny slam on the new product!

I am now using the Simply White... my cost was about a $1...

It was on sale for $11... (1/2 of the price of the whitestrips). I had a manufacturer coupon for $5/ and a $5 rebate...

Not bad for $1.

Well, I've never tried whitestrips so I can't compare... yes, you have to sort of dry your teeth before putting it on, you can use a washcloth, or a tissue, whatever...

Then you paint it on, and then you wait a small amount of time, so it does not wipe off.. I want to say a minute or less... i'm usually in the bathroom doing other stuff so the time goes by quickly...

I have noticed a shade change.

To me it was worth checking it out, for the low price, and for the fact that it was something new.

I tried the Simply White but it irritated my gums really bad. I had to stop after about 5 days.

I will try the crest strips now that they price has dropped. They are $26.99 at Target now. :)

For those interested in Crest Whitestrips, there is a $7 off coupon from their website. Click Crest Whitestrips, then click on U.S.A. (flag) and you'll see it.

I have used Crest Whitestrips a few times and love them! I tried Colgate Simply White and it was a joke. It was a pain to use, gross, and didn't work nearly as well. I went back to the whitestips!
People comment on my teeth all the time now...

My DW swears by the ColgateSimplyWhite......"easy, fast, great results". Perhaps folks may have varied results  ....

I've had it for about a week... and I like it...

If we all just stuck to our natural shade of yellow we wouldn't have any worries! Come on who is with me......keep your yellow teeth.

My mother bought me a set and I have attempted to use them 3 times. I have gotten sick each time. I have left them for a couple of days and will try them again next week.

The Crest White Strips made you sick? What kind of sick? Sick to your stomach? Headaches?

I have a front tooth that is turning yellow because it is "dying", according to my dentist..........would the Crest White strips help it or make it more noticeable???

Kitty, I do not think that the Crest strips will help your "dead" tooth. It will brighten the rest of your teeth and remove the 'yellowing' from the dead tooth.. but that tooth will remain darker than the rest.. sorry.
