Crescent Lakes villa community-anyone familiar?

Does anyone know if the communities in Crescent Lakes are all gated? And it seems a little farther out than others. Does anyone have any comments on its distance?

Crescent Lakes is not gated IIRC or if there are, they were never closed when we visited. We have visited there probably half a dozen times or more over the years.

It looks to be a mix of VRs and residential properties. Seems nice enough, but IMHO, a way out from Disney and when driving down there I didn't not see any amenities closeby (i.e. restaurants etc). (There must be some somewhere, but I have never seen them)

I recall it taking about 20mins ish to get from Windsor Palms to Crescent Lakes. Windsor Palms to Animal Kingdom parking lot takes 7 minutes. For our family, Crescent Lakes is too far out, but other families don't mind the drive.

If the price is right and you the drive is not an issue for you, its worth considering. Use Google maps to check the driving times / distances from Crescent Lakes to the parks.
