Credit question

I am sure I may get flamed and I am sure I already know the answer to this question, but nothing about morals here.

I have the DDP for 5 of us. 2 adults, 3 children. Due to unchaging circumstances 1 Child may not be going now. We have paid for her flight, moved to POR from POP to have accomadations for 5, paid for her 8 day PHP passes plus dining.

We planned on using the credits all for lunches and dinners and paying OOP for breakfasts....I can now use her credits for the other kids for breakfasts right (and this is why I talk morals as I would NEVER use her credits for adults as I feel that is *stealing* and want to "flame" others for it at times)?

And since the park tickets are on room keys now how about her park tickets since I know they aren't "active" until first day is used on them. Meaning if I use all the dining credits for 5 people but never use 1 persons park passes how do I go about keeping them if they are on a room card?

I was going to call a CM and ask but I feel I am ALWAYS on the phone with them! LOL It is too late to get our $$ back on her ressie, so we are stuck with over $1000 extra (flight hotel upgrade, tickets and dining) that we want to be "ok" with ...if that is possible.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Are you sure it is too late to remove her from the reservation? I would call and ask. I've never used the dining plan so I don't know how that works but the points are pooled not on each room key so I don't think you'd have a problem saving her room key/admission for a future trip. If you can't remove her I would absolutely use her credits as you've paid for them.

Enjoy POR!

:) Great...I am going to keep it on there since I paid for it...Plus it won't save me much...I am unsure if they'll let you cancel just 1 persons park tickets, dining. I can't downgrade resorts now as I beleive for our dates there aren't any rooms for part of them :( SO I guess removing her won't make much of a monitary(sp?) difference..sigh...If only she could go.
I am looking forward to POR. Thanks for the reply ;)

1) Coupons are paid per person per night.
2) Once paid, ANYONE can use the credits.
3) Go ahead and use the coupons.

NOTE: Since anyone can use the room's coupons, it is a good idea to monitor kids and teens. There are many cass where kids or teens have use coupons without the parent's knowledge. This made the planned meals come up short from the original plan of the parents.

also, michelle, please know that you can save the park ticket to be used by anyone, regardless of who's name is on the card, as long as it is not activated... (at least this is what my TA told me)

You can't save the dining credits for a future trip. They are directly tied into your nights at the hotel and wouldn't be good after midnight on the day you check out.

Thanks ;) I will at least have an 8 day PH Plus pass then that won't have to be purchased next trip :)

I think she just meant the admission on the key...She mentioned to me i should use the credits since I paid for them--Which seems to be what I am going to do ;)

Thanks everyone!

Absolutely! They are yours and you paid for them. I mis-read her post, I see what she meant now. Have a great time, you'll love the dining plan, we did. :cool1:

YAY! I will thanks ;) I just keep thinking, WOW this is VACATION, STOP STRESSING! haha I swear I make problems when there isn't one.

I will relax now and just let the next 2 weeks go by uneventfully. :rotfl2:

:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: 14 DAYS!

Personally I would see what could be done to change the reservation so you don't lose out on so much money. You are only planning on using her Cs credits for breakfast? Do you plan to use her TS meals at all? Maybe a signature restaurant.

Keep checking to see if you can change to a value to save money, if the only reason you upgraded to POR was for the 5 occupancy. Although, I did enjoy our stay at POR.

Also, do you want your money tied up in this extra ticket? Can you use it again later? (I know it is still valid, but I mean are you planning to visit again soon?)

Also, maybe see if you can change the plane ticket to another time with a change fee. It may be better than just losing the tickets.

Its too bad you are losing out on so much money. Is the child not coming for sure? or is it just maybe.

I don't see why you couldn't use the meal credits since they were paid for, but I guess Disney would have the final word. Let us know what happens and have a great visit!

Use the credit from the dining, it would cost you too much to make a change at this late date. The ticket should be good since it will not be activated. Be sure to put that pass up so someone won't accidently use it. All your meals are pooled together so if you are in 1room, you only have to give 1 card per transaction on the dining plan. :sunny:

The most money you would lose for the child's plane ticket is $100 (depending on the airline) for the change fee. You should be able to use the value of that plane ticket, minus the change fee, on a future trip within a year of when the ticket was originally purchased. Just be sure to notify the airline BEFORE the trip takes place, or you will lose the entire value of the ticket.

OK to try to answer all your ?'s. We plan on using the TS's also since we had 2 extra ADR's planned that we would have used ALL OOP and now we'll just pay us and the kids will use 2 credits each of those meals and we'll only lose 3 TS credits.

We will use the extra park ticket b/c we HOPE to go again in December so I look at it as a ticket already paid for. (Fingers crossed LOL)

I want to stay @ POR so I guess even if there is a down grade (which we looked into and part of our stay was booked solid *Pres Week* even tho that may change I want to try POR. (Now selfishly lol)

And unfortunately the child is not coming. It is my stepdaughter...My DH isn't coming as it is and she is staying with him. THe condition of this trip since the kids are missing 5 days (Whole other topic hehe) of school was to make sure they kept a passing average...she is in 4th grade and fell way below passing. She CAN'T miss the days--not by my choice but the school paired with myself CANNOT allow it for the trip..I am VERY sad about it. She doesn't seem to be as she will be home with daddy (They have "Date night" planned and a weekend night at a friends. ) So she isn't bumming to much (which kind of upsets me as I wanted SO much for her to go.)

So there is my story..I guess I have to suck up the fact we lose out SOME , but are trying to maxamize some of the money we are set back.

Thanks Nancy! We'll have to call Delta and see what they'll do..Unfortunately I don't see it being much as Song (which we are flying) will be out of business in May due to their bankruptsy :(

But I am crossing my fingers and will call tomorrow.
