I know I am terribly impatient, but it seems like everyone here is getting credit pretty quickly for this offer on SR.
I keep checking, but no credit yet.
True, I just signed up for it yesterday afternoon, but I get the impression most people are getting credited in a matter of hours.
I've had a bunck of issues getting credit for offers, depending on which computer I use.:confused3
I did receive confirmation emails from the company, but ...:confused3

Is there any consistency in which computer you have more problems getting credit with (e.g. could there be some type of cookie blocking or overwriting on it)?

I'm not 100% sure. We have 2 computers at home. I've signed up for tons of offers on the older one and some on the newer one. Most recently, though, the ones I've gotten credit for I've done on the newer computer. But I've done offers on the newer one and not gotten credit and offers on the older computer where I get credit! :confused3 I have noticed that my older one won't let me change the security settings any lower than medium. Any connection?
Just out of curiosity, Why would my information go through, confirmation emails received, and credit card charged, but the SR credit won't come through? I'm SO not blaming SR for this issue. I'm just curious.
I hate to sound like I'm complaining or disappointed with SR. I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Sunshine Rewards!! I never imagined it would be so easy to earn my way to WDW! I'm actually thinking Annual Pass this year! :woohoo:
It's just a little bit of a letdown when you log on and don't see the credits you had hoped for!

There are actually a few reasons that you can sign up and get a confirmation but the credit doesn't go through.

The way this stuff essentially works is that when you click on a reward program link, it sets a cookie on your computer. If that cookies does not get set, you do not get credit.

You then get transferred to the merchant site. If something overwrites your cookie along the way (like spyware or a toolbar), you do not get credit.

Once you complete an offer, you hit a page at some point that should have an invisible little graphic that should match the cookie that was set and tell the merchant's system who to give credit for. If you do not trigger that pixel for some reason, you do not get credit.

So you can see that it is actually kind of astounding that for as many transactions as the rewards programs do a day, we do not have MORE problems with things not getting credited automatically. Any of the above could screw it up. Or moving from one computer to another between when you sign up for something and when you confirm it via email.

Now, if any of the above happens and someone does not get credit for something like they should, we start the process of disputing with merchants. Sometimes they are great and take care of it that day. Others (like Disney) can take up to 6-9 months to respond to us.

WOW!!! Thanks for all that educational info!! I had no idea how it all works! I still don't fully understand "cookies" (except chocolate chip and snickerdoodles ;) ) but it was very helpful information. I'm wondering if the problem is the spyware program on the older computer. We recently updated it.
I guess I'll have to fight the kids off the newer computer to do offers in the future!
Thanks again!!!
