Credit for converting 5 day parkhoppers to Annual Passes

I was pleased, a few months ago, to stumble across a posting in this forum where it was mentioned that Canadians can purchase Disneyland 3d and 5d passes using airmiles.

In the past, I've always bought annual Disneyland passes at the gate, but this year I'm going to get one 5 day parkhopper using airmiles, and purchase three more 5d parkhoppers using the "TD Bank Expedia" website. This will enable us to take advantage of magic morning, as well as enter the parks on a blackout date.

My intention is, on the Saturday blackout date, to purchase annual passes at the end of the day when we leave the parks (this will be day 4 of our pass, so I assume we actually have until the end of the day Sunday to do the upgrade).

My question: how does Disneyland calculate the credit when doing the upgrade? I assume the credit has nothing to do with the price I actually paid ($0.00 in the case of my airmile ticket).

I just checked the Disney website, and 5 day parkhoppers are currently $335 and Deluxe Passports are $599. I assume I would have to pay $599 - $335 = $264 for each upgrade?

I *think* this is how I've seen it described on other forums and referred to "bridging" it's always recommended to do this inside the park at guest services after you've used it once. There's no way to know how much you paid so, yes, difference between current pricing of both tickets is what they will charge.

We've done this once and that was how it was done. Gate price of the AP minus the gate price of the hopper and you pay the difference.

Donald and Aladora: thanks the for confirmation. I've gone ahead and purchased my tickets using Airmiles and TD-Expedia.

Using current exchange rates, I calculate that using Airmiles to purchase a Disneyland ticket values each airmile at $0.12/point as opposed to around $0.105/point if I had instead cashed them in at Shell or Safeway. And, I earned the equivalent of a 4.5% rebate by buying my remaining tickets on TD-Expedia instead of buying annual passes at the gate using my no-reward US Funds credit card like I've done in years past. I'm kicking myself for not realizing there were better ways to buy Disneyland passes.
